you know, mine was really hot today. Of course - it was 100 degrees outside. :) I do wonder about where the pipes are routed - because when I drive a lot my feet get REALLY hot.

The hot feet thing is more often than not to blame on the Catalytic Converters. Take a trip and jump on it more than usual, pull into a parking lot and peek under the car. If any are glowing, theres the problem. Also be sure the heat insulation is still in tact.
I've never noticed any hot bun problems but I have noticed that the seat holds heat real well, maybe too well for those longer road trips.

I believe the seat warmer works equivalently to the rear window defrosters. It essentially sends a current through a large, flat resistor. I'm guessing that your seat warmer has some tears/breaks in it which is forcing the current to travel through local spots. These local spots are the hot spots. The only way to tell for sure that I know is to remove the appolstery (sp?) and inspect the seat warmer. I don't think that's very easy to remove and install. Good luck.

Oh... the stories I could tell. Some real stories!
I am glad I don't have heated seats. Everytime I've used them before it feels like I crapped my pants or something.... yuck.

Man I love my heated seats......when it was winter and cold outside. Go out start my car up, go inside for 5-10mins while its warming up and when I come back out the seats are nice and warm and within another few mins hvac system is blowing warm air. Though I do wish they were also cooled seats, I know my bum is going to fry this summer :shake:

I don't use the a$$ heater.
An occasional fart is adequate.
