4" Megs Delete Tips Interest?

Heres some photos of the 4" prototype (the packing inside will not be there and the tips will be LONGER, 26")

The rolled edge is 15 degrees vs 30 on the stock MM, but he's checking to see if their machinery can be rolled steeper. I had to put my bib on when I got these in :drool:

He'll make them if we can get runs of 10, so once I get 10 or more, we can do a batch, then if another 10 comes up, we can do another run.
Price will be around $250, and of course, I will cover ground shipping within the Continental US. Canada, AK and HI, I'll split shipping with y'all. MENINBLK has also expressed interest in a whistler version of these too, I'll be contacting Bubb Rubb to see about getting some made....

I wasnt holding the tip even with the other one, but you can see the rolled angle differences.

What about a 4" tip WITH the resonator inside? This should allow for the solid 2.5" out with some noise reduction qualities. If this animal existed, I'd be very interested.

Honestly, if you added a resonator in this tip like the OE tips (Soild pipe, welded in) you're adding around 2-3 lbs to each tip, going from 2.5" to 4" inside. Maybe we can get 2 runs, a 4" delete and a 4" w/resonators.....

I'd also like to know if a 3" inlet is possible, or if not, could a competent shop cut the inlet to where it is 3" and weld cleanly...would that work?

Could you mix-n-match inlet sizes on a group buy? 3" vs 2.5"? I'm still unsure what I'd want, I may consider a full 3" exhaust with headers when I redo my exhuast.

I may also swap out my current non-stock tips for a set of those, anyway my non-stockers have resonators and now my exhaust is a bit too quiet, a set of these should help!

I like 'em! either way...I'll most likely grab a set. :)

I knew they would look good especially if they can get the 30 degree angle. I don't care if they are 2.5" inlet with 26" there will be some to room to cut the inlet to 3" if needed but I know one thing this kitty will roar. We will just have to be careful that no small animals craw up in those :lol:

Quick suggestion:

Make them about 1" longer than the OEM tips to allow the option of extending them out a little past the rear bumper without welding in a short extension piece.

I understand that this mod helps reduce the interior cabin noise.

BTW: I would be interested in a set of these beauties!

I did the same thing after reading about it here; extended them out 1" past the bumper, just so the word "Megs" shows. Haven't had any scraping problems though, and these 4"ers would round out the bumper holes nicely. I almost wish I could get these, but can't justify tearing out what works and looks good already.

Looking forward of seeing rear view pics of these installed in your cars.

Joe, I recommend finding a good CUSTOM muffler shop in your neighborhood. A custom shop can and does bend pipe and make custom muffler systems. Not a Midas or some other joint who hangs premade rusting junk. My exhaust is 2.5" Stainless, Huff cut the old OEM tips off, added a 2 to 3" or so piece of stainless to get the extention past the bumper (1.5") that I wanted for the new tips, welded them in and added new hangers. They spent a huge amount of time (2.5 hours) and made everything perfect.; Total bill $80.00. They do all of my muffler work and truthfully there has been a bunch over the past 1.5 years. They cleaned up and welded the DR Cobra Exhaust and ran the 2.5" stainless to the OEM Tips. Changed my original Flowmaster 40's back to stock, installed a bung for 02 readings, replaced a bad Magnaflow Cat. Installed FMS Dual Mode mufflers and now the tip exchange. There will be a good shop near you, Joe. Good luck. Dennis:)

Since "Manassas Muffler and Brake", an independant shop with some truly great craftsman working there mysteriously dissappeared within a 2-year period of me not calling them for work I've been at a loss of where to take my car in the N. VA area.

I've got two places in mind, but neither are true custom exhaust shops. I feel they can do a good job and know they'll take care of my car but it's getting hard to find true custom exhaust shops where that is their specialty....at least in this area.

Mike, It worked out that the 4" tips are the same length as the OEM tips so of course when they cut the old ones off the 4" did not give the extension past the bumper cover I was looking for. I wanted these resonator delete tips farther out than the stock were. My exhaust is 2.5" stainless so they welded short pieces of 2.5 inch pipe (3inches approx.) to the cut off ends of the exhaust pipe,then expanded the inlets of the tips enough for the 2.5" to slip inside. This made adjusting the extension past the bumper I wanted easy and they welded it up. They then added new hangers for the tips and welded them on. It was pretty straight forward, tho it appeared for a few minutes that they might have to use a piece of aluminized to get the extension. Fortunately they came up with the stainless to match the rest of the exhaust and eliminate the prospect of the extension rusting out at some point. If the shop can bend pipe their machine will be able to do the expand, etc. Dennis

Having seen those pics (thanks stillprint & BruteForce), I'm quite sure the 4" tip is the way to go...

I always thought the 3" tips looked a little dainty... With such a big backside (the car, not just the driver:rofl:), the larger tips look right at home!:2thumbs:
