Best of luck! When I started driving I only learned about a year and a half after I started driving automatic. And that was a few days spent with an '88 GMC Jimmy 5spd. Plenty to get the concept, but not enough to develop lots of skill.

Only way I did that was to buy my Mustang. Now I slam gears with the best of them, and getting better at heel/toe downshifts. Uhhh not like you need to know either of those to drive stick, but helps on the race track.

Thats the only way to learn is practice practice practice. :D

It's a nice little car, the ZX5 Black. 2.0 I think he's happy to be in debt.

I recall there was a company ( Kauffman? ) that did 5.0 conversions in these puppies.

I couldn't stay with an SVT Focus in the twisties at Sebring. No problem running him down on the straights. The old Dude's instructor told mine that the car was so forgiving that he could run any line. There is a lot of upside to your son's ride. He can have a lot of fun with his Focus if he wants. Heck, my mom introduces me as her "Baby"! "Number two son" or "other son" would be just dandy. My mom is a whopping 5'2" tall. I'm a foot taller than her. #4 child, younger son, anything but her "Baby". :puke:

My brother taught me to drive a stick in his (shiver) Honda Civic years ago. To this day I still prefer automatics. Musta been traumatized.
