Is it me? Or do most of the SS guys seem like jerks?
I actually went to go look at their forums and all i heard was FIRE.

this link should work....
Somebodys gotta show em up.
I bet my Marauder aka the 'Night Rider' has received more looks and praises since LAST SUMMER than any of these guys since theyve bought theirs in 96-97 whenever.
Wow would I like to get one of those guys in the ring....

Don't sweat it Reaper
All that noise is from someone looking over their shoulder. There is some truth that FMC stopped short of the finish line with the MM. If they had used a a 2003 Cobra motor (with S/C) versus a 2001, the SS boys would really be screamin. And we'd be doin a whole lot more waving in the rear view mirror.

We've had number of OK guys here who are SS owners. You have to give them credit.
I know what you mean though, there are a lot of scrub guys who are just blind to anything that doesn't have a Bow Tie on it, even when it beats them.

No insult to our great younger guys on this board, but after reading that thread over there, I'd guess most of the posters in it are under 21

Being an SS guy also, I am ashamed to call those guys SS people. I guess they are just still mad about the whole demise of the SS to make more SUV's. I'll admit, I am kinda peeved about that fact, but oh well...what can you do? I love the MM, and will much love to put them both out at the track and run them side by side. I am glad that we have a great community here, who are here for the cars!

I like the SS too, but we're "Ford people". Last weekend, another woman in an SS thought she'd outrun me [on the dreaded Route 13 on the Eastern Shore], and so I let her. And guess what? She won a prize!! I saw her getting her award from a State Official as I cruised by. Heh heh heh

I think I'd be rude if my favorite brand no longer produced a RWD muscle sedan!!! (Loud thunk as I fall to the floor laughing uncontrollably).

Hey guys no one is a bigger FML fan than me...just about all I have ever owned...but let's not get involved in bashing the SSs and owners...I think IMHO we would be better served bragging on our MMs and let the dirt go...If I were to buy a GM product it would be a SS...yeah some SSers are jerks but we know that is the way things are...some of the SS guys have given some very good input on this site and I appreciate that...some good hearted (and I mean good hearted and not mean spirited) cajoling and comp is pretty cool...forget the losers...we gots a nice car regardless of what anybody thinks...raud on dudes...

We have a whole bunch of great SS guys who visit and contribute to this forum. There's always a few weeds in every garden.

This is from a former NAISSO member (#28). Yes, I was one of the first members of that organization. In 1995 I sold my 1987 5.0 coupe mustang with the 3.08 rearend and 5-speed to purchase a brand new 1995 Impala SS. Between then and when I totaled it in 2000, I spent many $$ on mods (3:42 gear, ZZ3 Cam, Ariz Marine headers, T-84 export headlights, ported and honed heads, AT&R catback system, Herb Adams sway bars, many Hi-po OEM and 9C1 parts, etc, etc). The Impala would light them up too. It was a good car, but I always felt that it was cheaply built. I always had tranny problems with the 4L60E. A sorry tranny to be sure. I had 6 modified trannys in that car. Even ran into Little E (Earnhart) at Media Play in Charlotte, NC and he had one too. Between then and when I got my blue Maurader I leased a Nissan Maxima, so IMHO having had both the SS and the MM, I think the build quality is light years better on the MM. Also, since I live in Charlotte I go to the Autofair at Lowes Motor Speedway and they always have lots of Impalas to chose from. Many are cloned state patrol cars. The MM will never be cloned because it has a special engine and many special parts just for that application. I am very happy with my purchase, now if I can just swing a 2004 Dodge SRT pickup.

Gents, and the rest of us ;). This is what multiple choice is all about. Gives us MM guys and the ss guys something to debate... Thats the point isnt it? I personaly feel that the man that said "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" , had it wrong. Critisism is the sincerest form of flattery.;)

I agree about criticism. What is written in that thread though, falls short of any real criticism.

true rc. its the true emotion behind those flames. the MM must have struck a serious "nerve" to get people to say such things. I think that is what theses cars are about, invoking emotion. People hate what they fear. fear this. ; )

I was at Charlotte Autofair also. When I arrived that morning I had to pass the Impala Owners show area. I just could not resist stopping in front of their show area and lighting up the rear tires. It was before my mods so it was only about a 5 footer but it still was fun!. Later a group from their club came over to check out my mm and most were impressed, polite, and asked intelligent questions. A lot of them looked like policemen.
