My brother-in-law is a CF-18 pilot, I can appreciate passing out, but the bravado is a bit much!

Yes, priceless !!!

I came >>> <<< that close to being in the Class of '72 USAF Academy --- but life and fate handed me some twists and I ended up in the US Army. I don't regret it ... but I sure would like to have the opportunity even some 34 years later to pass out or puke on one of them there thrill rides. :D I don't think he did too bad for 7.5 g's with 15 minutes training. ;)

I am working on getting a ride in the back seat of a F-16B. I am on a pretty short list.
My other passion is military avaiation...Dam I think I may be an expert.

That poor guy got a ride not just in a F-18, he got a ride with a Blue Angel F-18.

He did a lot better than I expected him to. The vast majority of us here will go down at 7.5 G's every time and after 3 Hi aunt janes most of us are going to be ralphing on our shoes and experiencing the blue jammies in our heads. It would be worth it...once. Dennis

Well I had the fortunate unfortunate chance to go to the Air Force Academy and I went. 1 year 4 months and a few days I was a cadet at that hallowed heII hole. Would I do it again? Nope, but I sure had fun while I was there. The best I did was 5.6Gs at 125 knots in ASK21 High Performance Glider.

It is easy to do really. Catch a thermal reading 1000 feet/minute in the VFI and ride it up and you 15K in no time. Push the stick to the floor and look at the earth getting closer, what your airspeed hit 125 and pull the stick into your jewels and you will experience G's quickly. %.6 was the highest we hit because the pilot was a smaller guy and could not handle the repeated hits. I took them in stride, I was in pretty good shape back them. Best experience ever. Waiting ona Trilogy ride to see if it tops that.
