Sharing the things we know and love

Cheap black coffee. Several pots a day.
Strong enough that the caffeine twitches can pull a hamstring.

Sounds like some of the coffee I saw on active duty with the CG...whatever you didn't drink, got used as antifoulant paint for the bottom of the cutter...or got poured into the crankcase to clean out the tops of the cylinders...

I'm on duty now, so no adult beverages for me until later tonight...enjoying a Monster (energy drink) right now...

I started out mixing 1/2 and 1/2 (any we could get) beer with wine (any I could get), being as we were underage at the time and I didn't care for the bitterness of beer. Called it a "sneaky peet".
As I grew to enjoy the taste, my choice of beer progressed to the cheapest I could obtain, ie. Carling Black Label, Weidemans, etc.
Nearing the end of my wild man days, I enjoyed Gin and Squirt, then Bourbon and Coke. Especially Green or Black label Jack Daniels (or was it Jim Beam? Yea, that was it, Jim Beam.). Now it is ice tea or Diet Coke (and coffee in the A.M.).
I once consumed about a 1/2 gallon of vanilla ice cream mixed with Kahlua, at a party. Very yummy. Not a pleasant morning after. It seems all that sugar is very effective at cleansing the lower intestine.

Holy crap bunny wabbit. Took me immediately back to the late 1950's listening to Red Sox games on the radio. Brewed in R.I. as I recall. We called it Nasty Gansette. Perhaps we were showing off. Kept used parts on and gas in my car with money made illegally buying beer for all the other high school kids who didn't dare. Wish I knew what had happened to all those guys and gals and I wish I still had my 49 Merc. It was a hell of a beer wagon. Got to go. time for my nap and my medication. Think it will be a Schooner. Feels like a special occassion. thanks Bobby Clobber! Dennis:beer:

When I need a beer, it's Reissdorf Kolsch in a 0.4 litre Kolsch glass.
When I want something stronger, it's Black Jack Daniels on the rocks in a short glass.
When celebrating, it's Jack - Single Barrel, neat.
When cigar smoking, it's a good Cognac. I like A. de Fussigny, and yes it is French, so I don't endorse it.
When out in the fresh air at a race or drinking all day, it's Bud light.

Dan, I'm with you and Gordon. The Islays, neat, no water, no ice, NADA! However, I've just been discovering the McCLELLAND'S Single Malts, very nicely priced hearabouts ~ $18 for a 750ml bottle. Their Highland is very nice. ;)
