Oops...Didn't see this post before I posted on my own, sorry.

Total MM sales from debut to 31 Mar. '03, is 4100 cars. 2910 sold in '02 and the remaining 1190 in the first quarter of '03. This is the MM sales figure alone, and 1190 is more than one per day, good yes?

Sarge - I would think that the sales increase is due to the FMC rebate and dealer reduction of sticker price. John

at that rate they just might sell as many as Chev did '94 Impala SSs

Speaking of the rebate...any idea how long that rebate will be in place?

My dealer at the corner.....the one that had 6 MM's since April 2002....

Sold 3 last week alone. There are only 2 300A's left on the lot.
Have no idea who bought them. But the saleman said that they lose $930 per car just to get rid of them for $29.3k....Me thinks the other two might still sit awhile.

PS: They have no desire to take delivery on 2004's.

Cruz,

Interesting you bring this up about them not wanting to take delivery on the 2004.

There is a local guy here in Orlando who specializes in Corvettes....long story short he has some of the most precious corvettes on earth.....a guys dream...anyway he has about 4 Impala SS cars on the lot including a 96 with 453 miles on it.....anyway I was there talking to him...and he said that they bought and sold 600 Impala SS cars between 96 and 98. They just kept buying them from dealers up north...because they could not move the car....dealers were not big on muscle cars...because women don't drive them or something.....

Maybe the same thing will happen with the MM...either way I am getting one.....

That would make sense if they're selling them at that price without applying the Mercury rebate.
otherwise they are actually selling them for $29.3k plus $3500.
Is that still $930 under their cost?

I beleive the dealer also gets 4% back from FMC on each sale. A sale of $30,000 would yeild $1,200. John
