Hey guys,
it's been a while, maybe some of the older members will remember me. ANYWay - school's been way too time consuming and I'm ready to get back in the game.
I actually need a new set of tires, and Nitto seems like a good fit, the BFs wear down so quickly and it's expensive and annoying to constantly replace them. I was thinking about getting...
Front Tires.... Stock Wheel Stock Size Nitto NT555s
Rear Tires... Stock Wheel Wider (305) size Nitto NT555s
Is this setup possible? I am thinking about wider rear tires because I'm tired of slipping everytime I mash the gas.
SO do our local experts approve?

I'm running the NT555s in 295 for daily driving, you'd have to go to the DRs for a 305. In either case, you need wider rear wheels to run them on the back. I had my OEM rear wheels widened to 9.5" by Weldcraft.
Also, the 305s may require a spacer to clear the shocks. If they are for a daily driver (rain, snow, cold, etc), I wouldn't suggest drag radials.

So i guess I'd HAVE to run on widened rims......Can I go any wider than the 255 on stock wheels?]
Thanks, 'Nut :)

I , too am like Nut, and run the Nitto's all round with those sizes---and no , 255 is the limit on stock--- I have a set of 305'sin the attic but need to change the shocks for their use--I have spacers , but don't like them--don't like the strain placed against the hub----

You may be able to use the following sizes, I'm not sure.
245/40-18 front
255/45-18 rear

With the sizes available from the Nitto's you pretty much need widened wheels. The other sizes come out to be kinda a small tire diameter wise. 255/45/-18 will work in the rear but it's a shorter tire. You're speedo will be off more than 3mph (fixed easy by a tune) but it could cause ABS or Traction Control (if you have it) issues. Aesthetically it will lower the rear too, and not fill the wheel well as much.
There are a fair number of tire choice for our cars.

Yep, you have to have the back wheels widened to 9.5' to use those tires. i have the p305 Nittos on my car, and I like em. but like any soft compound tire (which includes many drag radials as well as many of the Pirelli tires that grip pretty good) don't expect to get a lot of mileage out of them. better traction comes with a price my friend. you can't get something for nothing. There are trade-offs.
BTW, Lidio of Alternative Automotive offers wheel widening services for the stock Marauder wheels, if you want to send him yours, or you can buy a whole new factory Marauder pair already widened from Trilogy Motorsports. ;)

I'm running the 295 street radials (Nitto's) w/ the widened rims. Very happy. The stance, performance is fantastic. Not too noticable. Highly recommended.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. I think I'm not going to pursue the widened tire mod, just because it would be a little much, since I will be transferring to a school in England for school and I won't be driving my baby much. I was really thinking about just replacing the BFs with a better tire, since they wear out a little quicker and I'm not exactly satisfied with how they perform. the Nitto NT555s I want to buy to replace my stock tires. we have 245/45/18s in the front and 255/50/18s in the back?
