Interesting...
My 'w-body' 2004 Regal GS was a nice car to drive cross-country in.
I just drove it back to CA after my assignment in AR ended.
I guess the seats and suspension on the Monte Carlos aren't very good!

Dave

The rental cars are base models. IMO the 2006 Monte Carlo SS with leather has comfortable seats.

I owned a 02 Monte Carlo for two years though not as comfortable as the MM, it was still quiet comfortable on long trips, three to Mississippi two to Tennessee, one to Texas.

My '01 Grand Am GT's seats would stress my lower back after being in them a while, some morning's after an hour or so. I think I was too tall for them. Don't normally get much in the way of back pain so I'm pretty sure it was the seats not me.
Drove an 8 hour nonstop drive in the Marauder, just stopping for vehicle refueling and personal defueling - not a problem at all.

Seats were terrible, ride wasn't bad. I should have added that most of those three days was spent on the island, in traffic...

Seats were terrible, ride wasn't bad. I should have added that most of those three days was spent on the island, in traffic...cts has leather seats and they feel like slabs of contoured rocks with leather d***** tightly across them.
