No, not car batteries.
Our great state of Florida has decreed that household batteries, among other things, be sales tax free this week. Hurricane prep you know...
So I bought a bunch to power the thousands of doodads around MY household.
So here's the question:
Do they last longer if you store them in a freezer?
I know all you engineer types out there are going to chime in...
Do NOT, repeat NOT freeze batteries!!!
Refrigerate is one thing, but freezing can actually degrade a batteries performance. I won't get into how, just trust an engineer (and HAM radio op) on this. BTW, if you can get the 6 and 12v monsters with the screw terminal as household from a hardware store, they pack a tremendous amount of stored energy, and you can run small TVs and radio off of them for a good while.
Even bettter are the jump-start packs sold all over now, but those might not fall into the no-tax deal.
