The RX-8 and the insight are a surprise. When I saw 28 I thought thats odd, Jay Leno could afford to have the real thing so why settle for a replica? But then I saw 39 :bows:

What about the toy/model cars? My mother owns two of six in the world, Leno has two as well. Two more missing, do you know what model I am speaking of? She is trying to get ahold of Leno, but he is a hard man to contact!!

The buildup of this car was featured on TLC's Rides TV show, a show I miss and wish they'd show instead of replaying Overhaulin' 4 times a week.

Honda Insight - now here fella's is a REAL car guy. Personally I wouldn't have anything to do with this car, but I bet Leno has one put away as it was about the first mass marketed hybrid. Gotta really love cars to find value in collecting a Honda Insight.

I too am surprised by the RX-8, would figure an early rotary car or a twin turbo RX7 would come before that. Again, definitely a car guy.

He said in an interview once that he bought cars that he thought were interesting. Some, like the Insight, have some interesting technology. Others, like the RX-8, are best in class. And some, like the car with the tank engine, are just too cool to pass up.

When I was in the barber shop this Saturday I was reading a issue of Popular Mechanics and Jay Leno does a car column in the mag. This issue was him talking about a car called the Mazda "Cosmos" It was the first car to have a Rotory Engine to be sold in the US.
He explained how he saw it when he was young in a car show and fell in love with it.
In the article he said he aquired it from the original owner and he updated it with modern RX-8 parts like the engine and tranny since the original parts are impossible to find.
Its possible that the list is a bit old and that RX-8 became a parts car for the rarer Mazda Cosmos.

# 33. 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II (1,000hp Merlin V12, 1,806 pounds of torque) That is a crazy amount of torque for a street car. I'm sure it is no longer driven but I'd imagine it can tear up the road in a heartbeat.
