Thought you guys might like to know that a Marauder took the True Street class at FFW Houston Sunday.

He was also putting down some pretty good times.

That's great news. Unfortunately, the link doesn't work for me. :(

12.9 @ 104 MPH ... impressive. Does "true street" just mean normally aspirated? I wonder what mods he had?

I would guess that the '02 was probably a misprint.

Fun Ford has a lot of class and rule changes for 2003. I didn't even realize they had a true street bracket class until late on Sunday. Up until this year True Street was a heads up-only class.

I wish I would have had more time to do some spectating, but I was pretty busy racing myself.

lol... there was a pretty good tail wind. Maybe that was it. :D

I haven't been able to find any specific rules posted online for the bracket classes. I get the feeling if you don't participate in one of the showdown classes, your not considered an essential part of the program.

I WAS THERE!!
First the Cougar. It's an NHRA legal SS/GT car.Take a ho hum front driver convert to correct drive and install whatever old SS combo you like.I don't know what he put in it but it sounded like a 289 or 351c to me.Lots of revs off the line.
The Marauder.
Converter
Trans Brake
Gears
No cats,with flowmastrers
Chip tuned(no Details)
And........................... .
N20
He ran a best of 12.85 this weekend.
The normal driver runs the car in NMRA races.
Look for the car in Dallas at the NMRA race at the end of the month.

Hey guys, marauder1 won the Street Class at Ford Day at Mooresville(NC) Dragway last November. 1/8 mile track, lots of competition, something to be said for consistency and Lookin' Good!

The guy I talked to was just driving the Marauder in Houston.
The regular driver and builder of the car was at another race so I didn't get any real details about the car.I never even saw under the hood.
I'll try to get to Dallas at the end of the month, maybe I can get more details then.
I didn't drop the MercuryMarauder.com on him either.I only talked with the guy about 10mins.
