This rendering is probably closer to what the production car will look like, though MT does have a photoshopped version of the concept as a convertible. The article says the base V8 engine (there will be versions with a V6 to compete in price with the V6 Mustang) will likely be the 403 hp 6.2L displacement on demand engine used in the Escalade (idea being to keep fuel consumption down, yet have power and torque to compete with the Mustang GT). They also say that the SS version will likely have the 505 hp LS7, something that's been more or less confirmed on the GM sites for weeks. No supercharged version is being planned at this time.

I had been thinking about what I was going to order when the time comes, and I'm leaning towards a classic white SS with rallye stripes like shown above. I like the concept's hood better, though.

As far as a vert over a coupe... I like the look of the vert, but it will be a rag top and my experience with the SSR has been so good, I just won't have a vert without a hard retractable top, period. I have no intention of trading the SSR, either, so I don't need two verts. Also, I intend to mod the hell out of the Camaro (there should be a massive aftermarket for go-fast parts for this car) and definitely will take it to the track to run.

I'm sick and tired of this whole retro-styling thing. Are they completely out of new ideas?

Ford may be napping in a lot of markets, but since they've greenlighted a 500HP supercharged Shelby, the Mustang ain't one of them!

Sorry but ONE car out the line-up does not cut it! How can Daimler-Chrysler drop the SRT-8 motor in so many models? Being conservative will not help Ford in todays market.
