Last year I finished my Wet sanding project. Some of you might have seen th thread about it. Anyways...
MANY hours have gone into making my car's paint look like this (including weeks of wetsanding and buffing). I finished this process this afternoon. Please enjoy!
This is a picture of my passenger side door, the reflection :)

And here's a picture of it outside...

And here's a vid (http://www.enspiar.com/boosted/wetsand/P6090013.MOV) of my door, just so you can better understand the smoothness of it.
Here's a vid (http://www.enspiar.com/boosted/wetsand/P6090014.MOV) of the reflectivity of the paint in the sun. Notice...no swirl ;)

How may Megapixel is your camera ?
Martyo has a camera that has such a high megapixel that it shows any imperfections.

It's a 5.0 Megapixel camera. I have higher 300dpi pictures that I can email anyone if they don't believe the finish. :) Although, I think the videos speak for themselves ;)

Im too nervous to wetsand so I stick to a paste hand compound to remove any contaminates.
What products did you use and what grit sandpaper??

I used 2,000 grit sandpaper - automotive quality from MeGuiar's. The products/chemicals I used in the buffing process will remain a secret (sorry :(). But the wax I used is Collinite #845.

Et al BEWARE -clicking- either of the above images will cause an adware install; Adware.QoolAid - c:\installerus.exe
Fortunately NAV caught and removed the infection as well as blocked access to my PC.
*NOTE: Did not attempt the vid.

The adware that is potentially a problem, is not my fault - it's image shacks. The video is off my server - perfectly fine.

Didn't say it was your fault ( although it was your decision to use 'em ), however, still doesn't make it right.

Jourdan,
Last year @ Trilogys' Open house, You had some blemishes on your hood.
It looked like bird droppings that had left stain(s) in the paint.
Did this wet sand process adress these blemishes?
Now I have a few blemishes, Please don't keep the tricks you learned a secret.
Your Car looks fantastic!
Great Job!!!

The blemishes are still present; because I have not wetsanded the hood (or the top of the car). I may spot wetsand those problematic bird dropping areas, and I'm 99% sure that they will come out. And I am 100% sure that I can reduce their appearance to near nothing if not anything else.
And yes, I do pro-detail. So, many of the products that I use I keep for myself and only share with other pro-detailers. I can say this though...
The products I use cannot be bought in any "store" like Autozone or anything like that. So, I didn't use MeGuiar's/Mothers polishes or compounds. Also, the products I use require a Dual Action (Porter Cable) or Rotary (Milwaukee, Makita etc) buffing tool for the products to be applied appropriately to the car. So even if I told what I use, you'd still wouldn't be able to use it without a DA or Rotary.

It was nice seeing you again today; and I don't care of I see you "firmly planted on the ground" or sliding sideways in a blown vehicle (although the latter is MUCH more fun :P).

Thanks for the kinds words, I appreciate them. I was really bummed out about my car personally; I spent the last three days trying to get it ready, and as you said, I got hammered with rain and kicked-up nasty road grime. 3 days - gone. Oh well. Guess I'll have to do it over again :)

I love the Collinite line of waxes. I use the 845 also. Just for the laymen here the 845 is insullator wax and was designed to prevent flashover on high power electrical lines. It's super tough and here in FL stands up to the sun/love bugs. I haven't found a better wax yet. Glad to see someone else using it.
