The current marketing trend really escapes me -- who or what is their target audience?????? :confused: This commercial ... one word .... "stupid". Think I am gonna run out now and buy some Maxwell House. It doesn't kill brain cells.

The latest trend in marketing, at least on tv, seems to be the care-free type advertising. The kind where it mixes in humor. Almost, tongue in cheek, playing off of what you wouldn't expect a "company" to say or do. It gets the attention of the younger "college crowd". Which would be my guess is their target audience.

The point of an ad is to get you to think about it.

That can be accomplished by making you laugh, or annoying the piss out of you.

The ad worked since you are annoyed, talked about it to people, and linked it for others to see and pass on. (They did their job)

Advertising is name recognigtion.

This ad concept is easy. Morning people hate mornings. Caffiene (coffee) helps you "face the day". The annoying as oompa-loompa like singing asshats are the daylight, representing what us night people hate.

Have coffee(caffiene), face the day.

I'm becoming addicted to Scottish coffee. We have a Scottish restaurant near my house that has really good coffee.

"McDonalds" is the name of the place. I think it is a chain restaurant.

Wow....that was...um...disturbing. I think that if I saw yellow people when I was waking up Id question what was slipped in my drink the night before. Ill stick to Cuban coffe, thank you, but if I ever wake up to singing yellow Cubans.......
