I just wanted to drop a line and say that I had an excellent weekend. Yesterday I went Autocrossing www.autocross.com/texasregion (http://www.autocross.com/texasregion). I run in FStock class. I have been doing it with my car since I bought it a year ago. It is a lot of fun. I get tons of encouragement from the guys at the events cause they are amazed that I can do what I can with a bone stock Marauder.

Anyway, just thought I would encourage anyone else who is considering it to go ahead and go to an event. The SCCA guys are usually real cool and its mostly about having fun.

If you have any questions about what its like and getting ready for it, drop me a line or reply to this thread. I will try to check back again soon.

If your in the area, try some of these.

Here is a site that keeps track of the autocross events in the NY/NJ/PA/CT area.

www.autox4u.com (http://www.autox4u.com)

For road racing events, check these.

I'll be trying a couple more road events this year. Probably the Poconos and Lime Rock. Not sure if I will be able to go to the Watkins Glen one.

Just like drag racing, the proper tires go a long way to how competative track times turn out. But even with the stockers on it's still a blast tossing a 4200 lb car around the cones. Throw down a little water and things get really interesting really quick.

Here's an oldie but goodie --> clicky (http://www.grandmarq.net/marauder/Marauder%20in%20the%20Rain.wmv )

For $20 I got to beat around a Z4 5speed vert around an SCCA track at a thing called "Euro Fest" three times. It was a blast.
