I just purchased an '83 Olds Cutless Ciera Brougham with a 3.0 carborated V6 for $300. I liked my '89 Olds Supreme. Right now it's sitting in the shop getting new brake lines. I sort of like the '83 because it's classified as a antique. All of the parts are original, even the exhaust. (And the 10 year old 1/2 tank of gas. :D). I might post a pic of the car later.

Good point. This car should be interesting to work on.

Why sell the '89?

Maybe my pain killers for my knee have kicked into overdrive and fogged my brain, but I don't quite understand your thread,Got a new car and I'm not happy. It sounds like a decent enough set of wheels to me,at worst it's a good beater to put aside for next winter. Like I said, maybe I missed something,2 vicodans and my advancing age could have something to do with it if I did. No flame intended,I'm just in need of clarification.

There's nothing wrong with the car, I'm just po'ed that I had to get rid of the '89 so early. The torque converter locked up on me on the '83. I was going to NAPA to buy a new heater hose and it just locked up on me. My dad said that the trans fluid was old and needed to be flushed. So it's going to sit in my driveway until I can get the trans flushed.

That'll teach me to read all the way through the signatures.

Thank you jrzygrl. This isn't the first time it's happened to me. It was with a different car, a '87 or an '85 Buick Century. My dad was driving it and everything locked up. He shifted it into park and had his foot on the brake and the gas, started it up and drove away.
