My self and my friend Mark Ray of WWW.ZeusAutomotive.com put this kit together. I installed this on Kieths car today. We wanted to have a system for the club that if you decided you could go back to stock, a setup that requires no welding to install. This will also work on the CV platform but requires different Headers. I wanted a basic bolt in. I have SVO Ceramic headers.
with High flow cats, http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinhartautomotive/images/highflow.jpg
I want to make a kit that you can install at home, the first problem I had to over come was the EGR tube, its to short, with the shorty headers so I made an adapter that screws in to the OEM EGR tube so no fabricating is required. http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinhartautomotive/images/session/00-00-1052438071-Mvc-052f.jpg
I also made a custom spacer so the headers clear the steering shaft.
http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinhartautomotive/images/session/00-00-1052438554-Mvc-053f.jpg
Next thing is the high flow cats have male ball that has to go to the female socket, the mufflers on our cars have flat flange fittings, so what you have to do is cut the H pipe out since the High flow cats have the X pipe built in them.
http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinhartautomotive/images/ballflange.jpg
http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinhartautomotive/images/Mvc-034f.jpg
So I then made an adapter coupling that slides over the OEM pipe going to the Mufflers and you can clamp them in place. http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinhartautomotive/images/coupling.jpg
The OEM 02 sensors plug right in and the car sounds throaty and nice not loud or raspy I still retain stock mufflers and tips.

So I am satisfied I am taking the car to the dyno next week to get the numbers and then they will be available to the club.

Dennis: Can you comment on expected pricing? Will you be able to ship these to those not fortunate enough to live in your neck of the woods? When will the "kit" be available?

Soooo... my basic theory was pretty much correct then? SVO headers were used on the MM, but required slight modification due to clearance issues.

Seems like a very clean setup as far as all the parts fitting properly, Dennis, you said that you retained the stock tips, how about the ones that have the baffleless tips, will that make it sound differently than your setup ? Nice JOB Dennis.

Dennis, would this kit fit the CV's? I heard that SVO shorties will work if the flange was cut off and welded back on after a 180 degree rotation.

I don't recall your mention of a theory, but you did say this...

If it's not the room... then what exactly would be blocking the path of a set of these bad boys? And if it can be done, then why hasn't it been tried yet?

Looks like Dennis took your idea and ran with it...About 4 months ago.

Dennis, does your CV solution apply only to the 2003 MY and future, (new rack and pinion steering and front suspension) or will it work on the '98 to '02 as well?

Getting the AED positive displacement blower installed next weekend, and the next logical restriction seems to be the exhaust manifolds and exhaust. :D

I'm sure several people (CV/GM owners) will be interested in a pre-engineered design rather than going custom and getting questionable results. Let us know costs and keep up the good work!

I am doing a 01 CV now same setup but it does require a custom EGR tube

Dennis, any news on the dyno numbers for your headers... I am dying to see how much power these add

I am on vacation till Tuesday, on the crown vic I just did with Mark Ray it gained over 35 RWHP with our pacakage, I will post numbers this week but again Kieths car has less than 500 miles on it so no matter what the numbers are they should go up with a seasoned motor.

Well, here are the sheets and the numbers, I am satisfied so far. What everyone needs to understand is Keith's car only has 500 miles on it. First of all with Keith's base run, the car made 231.5 RWHP RWTQ 241.7

http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinhartautomotive/images/marauderhp.jpg

So Stage 1 was 4:30 Gears Denso and Thermostat and Chip, and Shorty Headers High flow Cats. The car made 286.1 RWTQ this is a 45 RWTQ gain and it made 265.2 RWHP this is a 34 RWHP gain.

http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinhartautomotive/images/maraudertq.jpg

I am convinced with a good break-in and underdrives this car will make close to 300 with massaging, of course I will not install pulleys on this car because of the Supercharger I am starting the install tomorrow, so I will set pricing for the club for the headers and high flow cats those that are interested can give me a call I will have the figures tomorrow.

Could you explain individual gains, isnt that just what I posted, and I guess you mean you would like to see what other members cars do before you commit, which is understandable.

Dennis,

Not speaking for LML, I would like to understand how the headers help as an add on to the previous stage one (chip, plugs, stat). It might also be interesting to understand how they do in a purely stock situation for contrast.

Cool but I would never recommend the cats and headers as a first step, why would any one just do headers and cats with out a chip, I suppose I could re'dyno the car and remove the chip, what I have found is that its the combination of modifications that gain the most RWHP, of course any one can pick and choose what modifications they can afford and what to start off with, and the chip gears and plugs does dramatically transform the car, and Underdive and exhaust enhance the total package.

Dennis: I spoke to you quickly today and Michael took my order for the sway bar, which I am looking forward to receiving.

I assume that the shorty headers are now ready to go? They are the only mod I have not ordered from you yet. :)

I would like to talk to you personally a bit before I order the headers though, so I can get a few questions answered before I take the plunge.

When is the best time to reach you so we can chat for a few minutes? You sounded busy (an excellent sign given today's economy :( ) and I didn't want to drag you away from the people in your shop.

Is there/Will there be a complete exhaust system package (minus mufflers) available for the group? Price? Inclusions?
Maybe a package that will include the open tips?

Well, after a late night I have my Reinhart Exhaust installed:D

Even on the SOHC there is a noticable gain in power. The bottom end torque did not suffer and the upper rpms are much more enjoyable. I'm N/A now, but I have a Allen Engine Development SOHC Supercharger kit waiting to go on too. The combination should bring me close to the 300rwhp mark, was about 190rwhp

The exhaust system is very well thought out. Was straight forward to install. And the fitment is excellent. It is truely a 'bolt-on' for the Panther cars.

This kit will transform a mild manored PawPaw car into a performance beast:coolman:

Thank You Dennis.

Bill No where in this post does it give a specific RWHP gain with just the exhaust its all parts enhance the whole we have disscused this more than once, lets wait and see what the intake does for the car I will be testing this, with in the next two weeks.
