View Full Version : Memory Seats or what?

Since I go my car back I have noticed that the inflatable lumbar support inflates itself to full when I lock the door on the drivers side. It happens almost every time. I do not think MMs have memory seats and even if they do I would figure they would do something like this when I un lock it not when I lock it. In addition twice now the power seats would not work at all neither side.

Anyone experience something similar. I may need to check the wires under the seat for a loose connector or a short.

Since it happens IN THE DOOR when it locks, I would start IN THE DOOR.
The driver's door switch transfers power to the remaining 3 doors.
If all of the doors go dead at the same time,
the problem is usually the driver's door switch.

I understand what you are saying but the lumbar switch is in the seat not the door. I will check into this to see if there is some kind of interconnection between the door buttons for the and the seat button. My Jeep has the doors partially interconnected for power windows and locks. So this may be a possibility.

What sucks is having to deflate it every time when I get in the car. Its weird. I can hear it inflating when I lock the car which kind of pisses me of because I cant do anything about it. It does not stop when I unlock the door again either.

Are you sure you aren't hearing the Air Suspension pump ?

No, no pills but that is funny.
I hear the pump from inside the car. I can also see the seat back enlarge. Plus when I open the door I hear it louder.

I am thinking perhaps there is a short and when I sit on the seat it breaks the short and when I get out it shorts again. Not sure.

Iffin it shorts when you sit on the seat,
then you may need to get on the same program I am.

I am on the "Improve your 1/4 mile time in 12 months or less." plan... j/k

I wonder what controls the various memory recall functions in the Town Cars & such.

Some sort of module on the backside of the drivers door panel ?.

One under the dash somewhere ?.

If there is such a thing ...

Is a module w/the memory function, close enough in looks & design that it could be installed in place of a "non-memory" one ?.

Hey .....

Maybe they all have it & it's just not activated cept' in the top of the line Town Cars.

Maybe all you do is to turn the ignition key from off to run - run to off, like 15 consecutive times while pressing the brake pedal with the headlamps on ... while holding in the OD off button, as you sing a show tune from the Nixon era or something.

All kidding aside .....

I have NFC what the hell is up with your car.

I explored the idea of memory seats a while back, too much work and too much money.
Um, err, I solved the problem by buying another Marauder for myself and let wifey-poo keep her seat 3 inches away from the steering wheel on hers...

I think the lumbar switch is stuck on. But I would have it checked out for shorts. Keep us posted.

Well I am going to pull the seat out on Monday but it seems that if I put pressure on the edge of the seat it inflates. It must be a short in the seat somewhere.
