View Full Version : Future Factory Improvements?

From what I have gotten from the LM Dealers (Which is surprising little) and this site...the MM will only be produced for 2 years. Has this been confirmed yet?

Will there be any significant improvements other than standard Traction control in the 2004? Which some people said is not the big an improvement.

Reason for asking...I remember that when the Impala SS came out in 94 it had a column shifter and it was not until 96 that they put in the floor shifter...which is one of the big reasons people point to the 96 as the definitive (modern)Impala SS.

It seems to me that Ford covered a lot of the bases up front that the Impala did not....more HP, floor shifter from the get go.....

I did read quite a few magazines where MM owners or gearheads wanted a V10 in the MM but that Ford has no intentions of putting it in there....

Any input from the peanut gallery would be appreciated!

I think I heard a possibility of a tranny improvement, but don't hold your breath...

The trend so far is to take features away.....not add them.
If the car is indeed slated to go away after 2004 I would not expect anything different except maybe the planned color change of red. IMHO But my crystal ball fogs up from time to time.:D

Traction control IS standard on the current 300Bs.

Until we actually see a 2005 Marauder, I'd take the rumour as being true.
I don't expect a lot of changes for 2004 other than Red

Most likely a software upgrade to the ECM for improved "sporty" like transmission shift behavior. This is available now, but not widely known or spoken of. Outside of that, you couldn't ask for a better tranny.

Depending on how much you celebrate on your Barf Day, that could happen you know.

FMC would probably have discontinued the MM with the 2003 model if they didn't spend big bucks developing it and probably produced enough parts to build the 2004. I'm sure FMC is upset about the lack of sales but they have nobody to blame but themselves. IMHO. John

The 'WISH LIST' might go something like this:
6-12 inch shorter overall length...
TWO doors...
350+HP...
MoonRoof........AND
self-centering wheel logos...oh, I feel faint already!!!!!

It's all about performance for investment, gentlemen.
I work hard for my money and I expect the product to work hard for me in return for my investment.
I will (gladly) pay the money when I feel the product performs to it's designed specfications...and those of mine as well.
The Marauder has all the panache necessary for a loyal following, to date I have been WELL PLEASED with my investment.

Drive with care and keep that Marauder happy.

It's been the history of the marque. Short production. '63-'65 and '69-'70. I think '63 was only a partial year at that.

We know what we have in our Marauders and I have waited many years for my pocket book to catch up with my eyes and the Marauder came alone just at the right time for me.:D :P

See, now that's funny. Most of us around here are waiting for our stomachs to catch up to our eyes! Just take a look at the thread in which we were all foolish enough to give our heights and weights. C'mon Todd and RF, I wasn't singling you guys out....

I think the word choice of "lumping" was VERY appropriate here RF. Bravo!
