I'm not sure if any of you are a fan of Monster Garage but yesterday the Discovery Channel ran a Monster Garage in Iraq with US troops building a 1000hp Humvee dragster. Anyway, the build failed due to a transmission failure. They tried to run the tranny dry. That wasn't the point though. The people were the point. And everyone was happy that Jesse was there. He stayed with a mechanics unit btw that works on fixing trucks that get used to bring in supplies and such. Pretty interesting episode. I don't know when it next shows but it was worth seeing.

I had TiVo'd it and just watched it. It was a very good episode and actually quite moving. Thanks to the men and women who protect our freedom!

I am always amazed to see how humble Jesse James is about his fame and success and the fact that he uses it to support our troops makes me :)

Think I read somewhere this was why Monster Garage was cancelled, he wanted to go to Iraq so he just went. I think the show was called Jesse James in Iraq and not Monster Garage. The last episode of Monster Garage didnt even have Jesse James on it. Im sure he'll be back on TV on something else.

Vortex, I realize that. In the article I linked it mentions the Discovery Channel's reluctancy to let Jesse go to Iraq. I can understand but what he did, Jesse, was a necessary morale booster. Epsecially now with all the media harping about exiting strategy and such. Our troops need all the good morale they can get.

Lets not turn this into a political thread.... we don't need opinions to fly about the war and troops.
