Well I installed my RAI/CAI (simple and quick). Then I went inside to wash up, before wiping the finger prints off the engine and engine compartment as we all do. :) Then I proceeded to rake a ride. after after driving the car for 10 mins. or so I stopped at the auto parts to get a bulb. When I came out and started the car the check engine light stayed on, :confused:Hmmm. On the way back home this was bugging me so I got to thinkin' :thinker: then it hit me :bricks:
In my haste to clean up I overlooked plugging the MAF in. So now I have plugged it in and driven it and guesse waht? The light is still on. How do I get that darn light off now¿ :dunno:
And a a totally seperate note, I have a problem with my steering wheel that maybe someone could advise me about. It seems that the wrap may have worn off in acouple of spots as when it is damp out these areas of the wheel get gummy and kinda flake off. Any suggestions for remedying this¿

Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes. Then reconnect it. You should be good then.

If you don't have a codes scanner or XCal2 take your MM to your FLAPS (Friendly Local Auto Parts Store) and they should have a scanner to check and clear codes. Should take them all of 2 minutes. The OBDII port is under the dash between the center console and the steering column.

That gunk on the wheel is most likely the oils and dirt from your hands or the previous owners. Try a "dobie" pad and some dish soap or leather cleaner and see what comes off. My wife uses the dobie pad to clean dishes and it is non abrasive steel wool.

You're way too polite. Wait till Killjoy or Rider(sp) gets ahold of this.

Care to join us?
Pm me your cell if your open tommorow afternoon
Blown,
The Check Engine light will go out after about 5 full warm-up cycles from cool start-ups. Clearing codes with a generic tool will reset all the adaptives (somewhat) and will require relearning. Don't bother unless it really annoys you. Just give it a couple of days. It's learning your new intake set-up anyways. Just ignore it and . . .
Best luck,
J
