Building on the other thread by the opposite name....I was wondering what was the slowest you have ever been pulled over for....also what is the dumbest thing you have ever been pulled over for,,,,either in your opinion or the leo's opinion.
Mine was comming back from West Texas and was pulled over by the State Trooper for going 74 in a 70. That's right.....4 over. Got a warning ticket.

I got a ticket once on the keyhole crescent I used to live in.
The crescent was such that I couldn't possibly get up to the speed limit befroe I had to stop to get on to a feeder road. One of my 'new' neighbours (most of the others had lived there upwards of 20 years) called the cops and had me charged because he felt I was driving too fast and too 'erratically'. I couldn't have been doing 30km/h (~13mph), because I tried and couldn't get going any faster. The limit is 50km/h. So techincally, the ticket was for -20km/h.
So I fought the ticket. The Crown prosecutor asked the guy the details of his complaint. My neighbour said that I was driving fast and erratically, and nearly hit his kids who were playing in the crescent. "How fast?" was the Crown's question. "What do you mean by erratic?" followed. And I asked the most obvious "Why were his kids playing on a busy road"? Of course, I played much street hockey on that road in my youth, but his kids were still on his front lawn when I passed.
Case dismissed, and the family moved away some time after they weren't invited to our annual block party.
I was pulling off the highway in Lewiston Maine in my 1966 Chevy Key Biscayne which had carb and starter issues and stalled. I rolled into a parking lot of some little business which happened to be staked out. A lot of cop cars showed up real fast. They gave me a push start and a warning for a tail lamp out. :D

I got a ticket for driving with one hand once. I had my arm around my girlfriend and she was shifting. A cop pulled along side and told me to use both hands. I asked, "What should I drive with?" and he gave me a ticket for not being in control of my vehicle.

I got pulled over for doing 3 miles an hour over the limit. It is my belief that the officer was really bored, it was late at night and I was pretty much the only person on the road........got a warning.....what a waste of time
Good answer!!!! :D :D :D

I got one for 20 MPH cutting thru the Veteran's Admin in West LA when the speeed limit was 10. Because it was on Federal Property and the issuing Agency was a Fed, it never went on my record. Only a $40 fine.

I was also cited for backing up on a freeway. I won that case because I never backed up on the freeway.

In the south, that is the difference in naked and nekkid. Naked means you haven't got clothes on. Nekkid means you ain't got no clothes on ... and you're up to something.

I was in Florida visiting some friends in the early 70's and we went to play golf in his car.....1960 Falcon wagon with a TOP speed of about 38 MPH....loaded with beer cans for recycling and just plain weak!!:argue:
We got on I-95 and ran up to speed (about 35-36 since we had a head wind) and we got pulled for going too slow!! The posted speed limit was 65 MPH with the minimum being 50 MPH!!
The ticket was for about $25.00 and he beat it in court (after much laughter) by promising not to take it back on the interstate until he could run with the traffic!!:shake:
Marauderjack:burnout:
The dumbest, and primarily the only thing, that I have ever been stopped for is not obeying the speed limit.

Sitting still, revved to 6500 RPM and not moving an inch (smoking the P-275's back into dinosaur juice), I got a ticket for "Exhibition of Speed".

I got one for stopping at a stop sign, but not coming to a full and complete stop for 5 whole seconds.
That's right, I stopped, but not for 5 whole seconds. More like 1, so I got fined. This was many years ago on a side road near I-80 in NE. Must be boring there.
Also got one I posted the story on here a couple years ago about "passing contrary to sign" where the state dupe-u-tee said I touched the double line when passing a slow-moving pickup on a 2-lane hilly road. I think he saw the MM and was jealous. I got to cross him in court and he basically admitted that he didn't have a great view of things, that I wasn't speeding, and he was over 1/4 mile back at the time, with three cars in between us.
I still lost, becuase under Iowa law one needs a witness to corroborate. Otherwise he could say whatever he wanted and get away with it, or so I was told by the judge afterward. What a crock.

Back in the hey days of my misspent youth, I once got a ticket for illegal parking. Had my 79 CJ-5 parked with it's front tires halfway up a rock fence. Occifer (hic!) was mostly po'd 'cause he couldn't get me for a DUI (I was sitting in it when he pulled up). I am still amazed to this day that I survived that period of my life.
the year, 1980
the speed, 62 in a 55 :mad2:
the car I think. . .1976 Oldsmobile Toronado

First and only speeding ticket I have be given was in the MM back in Jan 06. I was doing 73 in a 55 so the cop says but I was in the right lane and the fast lane traffic was going right by me. He said he got me on radar (not laser). The wife was with me and I didnt feel like getting into it with the cop about how he let 5 or more ppl going faster than me go so I took the ticket and paid the $75 fine.

...also what is the dumbest thing you have ever been pulled over for,,,,either in your opinion or the leo's opinion.
About 4 years ago, in my pre-MM days, I got trapped in very heavy traffic on I-95 Northbound. Traffic was snarled to a dead creep. After crawling for about a half-hour, my exit was just ahead.
Against my better judgement, I slid onto the shoulder about 150 feet before the actual exit lane at a blistering rate of about 15 mph Sure enough, at the top of the exit was a VA State Police car. He had about 10 cars already pulled over for the exact same maneuver. I ended up waiting about 30 minutes for him to work his way down to me. Thought that I might catch a break because of my "clean" record. No dice. On top of the $100 ticket, I got a lecture too.
I knew better 'cause I knew it was wrong and got caught. Stupid and embarrassing. :o

Oh Yeah. I remember the DUMBEST ticket I ever got!!!!!
Frickin' J-Walking !!!!!
14 years old, walking the 200 yards to my High School. An upstanding Town Copper stops me and my chum and gives us each a ticket for not crossing at a "Designated" cross walk.
Well, there was no designated cross walk on our COURT. Calvin Court N & S.
What a ******. Spent 6 (SIX) hours in Town court waiting for our 'trial' All the Lawyers were laughing their Arses off. The Judge just shook his head... The copper was rightfully embarrased.
Our case was heard at 12:30 AM... Yes, after Midnight on a school night....
There was obviously no fine, as I supplied the proper photographic evidence there was no "Designated" Cross walk on our small town side street..
What a joke.....

I was driving my Moto-Guzzi 1100 Sport ie from Greenville, SC, to Raleigh, NC. My girlfriend was with me. I was going 120-130 mph for a quite a while as the weather was getting bad. Got suddenly woken up by the noise of a Police car. I do not know how long time it was behind of me. The cop made me stopping then asked me to follow him to his car. Sat down. He asked me whether or not I had an idea about the speed. I told him the truth...fast but not that fast. He asked me for the driving license. When he saw that it was a belgian licence, he asked me whether the girl had some valid ID. I told the truth...she is russian and she has got her tourist visa only. He asked "what the hell I was doing here ?" I told him the truth...coming from Greenville to a Moto Guzzi gathering in Raleigh. He told me he could not believe that I was driving that f... bike for so long and so fast. I told him my concern about the bad coming weather. He then told me...go quickly, rain is coming...be safe...and drive safer ! No warning and no ticket !
I thanked him and arrived at the hotel in Raleigh 5 minutes before the rain !

The slowest ticket for me was three days...
Stopped a vehicle for speeding, driver resisted arrest. The car was stolen, with a gun under the seat, and a few rocks in the driver's pocket. After he was in custody in the back of my car, we got slammed from the rear by a drunk driver, and I ended up in the ER with a broken wrist (from the fight, not the collision). Three days later, a supervisor from Major Accidents stops by the house so I can complete the speeding ticket.
Yep....Three days was my slowest ever...
Ok, you have just got to stop this stuff, Mac!

My guess is that your papers probably confused him. Either that or he figured that giving you a ticket, with you being from Belgium, was pointless.

I got stopped once while not moving.....I was sitting in a parking lot back in my highschool days. I was talking with a friend in another car who had a passenger and we were both sitting in our cars door to door facing opposite directions. Next thing I know there are 9 Deputy Sheriffs cars that block us in from all sides have the three of us get out of our cars and search us and our cars.....at that time I smoked about a pack a day and had several empty cigerette packs in the trunk and in my car and they searched every one...I got a giggle out of that one. A couple of deputies went thru my car and ended up breaking my glove box and cracked my windshield cause they threw something against it....I had a pager at the time and as one of them was searching me it went off....he asked me if it was my drug contact.....I looked at him and smiled and said no its my mom, you want to call her? He said no.....well no tickets were issued but they filled out a "contact card" on me and my friends and let us go....come to find out it was the Gang Unit.

I got a ticket by.....making a complete stop with front bumper lined up at stop sign post (no white line present). Then had to roll up to see beyond visual obstructions, when I saw it was clear I took off while rolling. The officer that pulled me over told me I ran the stop sign....He couldn't see the stop sign behind the obstruction! Argued a bit, but it didn't help, just ate the ticket.

I had just bought my '04 RX-8 a month before and was just leaving to head into work. This was about 7 AM and it was still dark out.
I turned the corner from my house heading to the main road and just let the car idle down the hill and back up the other side. As I pass the only side street on the way, I notice a cop sitting there. As I wasn't acting goofy, which is so very easy to do in one of Mazda's rotary rockets, I didn't think anything of it.
As soon as I passed the cop, the lights came on. I pulled over and wondered what was wrong.
He walks up and tells me he caught me going 35 in a 25 at the bottom of the hill. I say "ok" but I didn't believe it. He then asks me questions about the car since he's never seen one before. He writes down the color as black on the ticket, even though it was green, and then hands me my copy.
Fortunately, I have a lawyer friend who was able to get the ticket reduced to a non-moving violation.
I'm pretty sure the cop was there because someone had called them on account of some kids had been speeding down that street. Happens all the time. I have yet to see any cop on that road since so I'm figuring that the cop got the sporty car to slow down and his job was done.

35 years ago, sitting still in the HIGH school parking lot in broad day light. Car full of beer with my buddy in the drivers seat, cop looks at his drivers licence and the car full of Miller beer cans and says "who's Miller? " My buddy looked at him and said "Sir I don't know anybody by that name" I burst out laughing and was the one hand cufffed for an hour till my HUGE pissed of dad came and the cop figured I was in more trouble than anything he could do to me.

0 MPH and 3 tickets, while sitting in a fire lane in front of Kroger as my Brother-in-Law went inside to get some beer.
LEO rounds the corner behind me and I throw it in drive. Another LEO blocks the front of my car and says,.."Put it in park, you're going nowhere!"
Ah crap. No time to hide that beer I just opened.
Insurance? Yes.
Proof? No.
Driver's license? Yes.
License plate expired by a few days? Yes.
Parking in Fire Lane? Yes.
The LEO forgot about the beer after me saying the alphabet about 3 freakin' times, and slapped me with a court date.
Proof of insurance? Yes.
Tags renewed? Yes.
Parking in a Fire lane? Guilty and fined.
BTW, this was 20+ years ago..

Here is one that I forgot about .... maybe 10 years ago or so.
My wife was sitting at a red light and the car behind her launched prematurely when the left turn arrow for the other lane changed. The impact pushed her van 1/2 way into the intersection. The county policeman that showed up cited both driver's for "RecKless Driving". I was livid :mad2: Not sure how he determined that my wife was recklessly sitting at a red light and not moving.
Her ticket was thrown out of course when the judge heard her story; but we both missed a half-day of work to go to court over this :bs: I still don't understand it. :dunno:

I was doing 66 km/h on a 60 km/k street. To explain, anything less than 15 over results in no points. The officer pulled me over, and asked "Do you know how fast you were going?" "65." I responded... He looked my in the eyes and said, "Nope - you were doing 66." I knew this wasn't going to be a warning chat, after that...
Never figured out what was up his butt that day, but paid my $50 and moved on.
