I love the look of cowl induction, however I would have to see it placed on the car before buying.

31/2" tall in the center? I'll have to fashion a box, or, something to simulate this. It sounds like possibly an obstruction to the driver's view of things.
OTOH, it would be a neat place to tuck away some gauges.

Am supposed (?) to get my cowl scooped hood from the body shoppe some time this week; will post a pic' after the install so that you don't have to do any simulation :D
While the scoop isn't steel ( fiberglass ) it's seamless ( meaning - no ridge down the middle ).
48½" long X 21" (front) / 31" (rear) X 3"

*Since the scoop will be functional, I opted to have screening/grating fab'ed in the opening to keep out leaves and other wayward objects that might get sucked-up.

There's been a delay; the shoppe experienced some problems ( not with the hood, but in general ) late last week / early this week, so now they're saying next week ( FORSURE ). *sigh* It could happen.

You should cross post your picture needs ( for doug at champion fiberglass ) in the custom hood poll.

Still not ready. See attachments for some preliminary pic's.
*I've been told that it should(?) go to paint tomorrow, however, the humidity has been a factor.

Did they cut an opening in the steel hood to act as a heat extractor?
Can wait for more pics

As mentioned previously, it is functional; meaning - holes were cut.
Pop your hood and the two sections of outer skin ( between the inner panel bracing ) in the middle of the hood ( very middle and behind it ) have been cut-out. Screening ( actually the same material as the lower grille mod' ) will be inserted in the scoop's mouth.

gdmjoe,
I wonder what that cowl hood would look like with a shaker scoop sticking up out of it? :D ... just a thought.
Your car is going to look sweet when done.

Recall that the intention was to have the scoop functional. So ... Is it of any benefit
Got a new toy - digital infrared non-contact thermometer / temp-guage.
After an hour around town ( city driving ) cruise, some temperature readings ( fahrenheit ):
29.8 - outside air temperature.
36.4 - metal zip tube.
143.7 - bottom of heat shield for metal zip tube.
47.3 - throttle body adapter exterior. **
87.8 - intake manifold below throttle body adapter. **
150.2 - upper radiator hose exterior.
** With engine cover on.
Set-up ...

Preliminary conclusion - Got a C(old)A(ir}I(ntake) system.

Do you have a pic of the scoop your talking about?
There was an episode of "overhaulin" where they put a hood scoop on a Galaxie 500.
The scoop looked like it would work with the lines of our car, but they did not say what the scoop was from. :(
It's hard to see in this pic from the overhaulin website.

What about a real shaker hood scoop! The one i saw was on the lastest Mustang. Keep it all Ford baby!!I saw for the Dodge Magnum a Hemi shaker hood scoop for that car. I think the Marauder could benifit on an all Ford style.

Actually, that is easier then you think, but not cheap. Get the whole shaker assembly and upper intake from a mach 1 and then have your hood and intake modified.
It would look pretty cool but it would not do anything for performance.
BTW, that induction cowl came out badazzzzzzzzzz!!!!!

I have kicking this idea around for a while, but I would need to find a donor hood that would need to be cut and or modified.
But think you would need a different front grille to make it all flow together, possibly honeycomb instead of the vertical bars.

Those are the eBay gunmetal headlights: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-99-00-01-02-03-CROWN-VICTORIA-HEAD-LIGHTS-CORNER_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcateg oryZ33710QQihZ006QQitemZ160162 624485QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
The light output is diminished since the reflector portion is also tinted. The only way to get that look without affecting the light output is to disassemble the headlight and paint the non-reflective areas yourself.
I'm surprised that no one with a DTR, SB, or blue MM have color-matched their headlights yet.
