Twice this week my Marauder has let me down. Both times involving the belt. I've bragged too much on it I guess. Never had any problems with belt slippage or thrown belts (8-rib setup) but then POW, twice in one week.
Monday the ProCharger idler pulley let go, sending little bits of aluminum all over the place and causing the belt to get eaten up. Then this evening the alternator let go, and actually was on fire when I stopped and opened the hood. Melted some wiring and vacuum lines and even caught my CAR Motorsports underhood insulator on fire. Luckily I got it out before severe damage was done.
Hopefully this will be it for awhile.
