How many of you have bent your rims? I know I have bent 3. I have one bent right now and can't decide if I should replace it with an official one, fix it or get a knockoff. The official ones are around $620 a piece with employee discount. (Or thats what they are telling me) I never got one fixed, but heard it's not worth it sense it's $200 and your still stuck with the scratches and fades. The knockoffs I kinda fear are cheaply built. The may not hold a shine as well, not take a pothole as well exc. So how manys rims have you guys gone through and what do you think is the best solution when you bend one?

Hahaha. Well I'm actually serious about potholes ruining my wheels. You don't need to know what I do with that car. I actually might get it fixed under extended warranty.... details later.... much later. :D Well see what happens. I'd love to tell you the stories I have with the Marauder, I told a few to Mac yesterday and he's got a few funny ones himself. Back on topic of the rims please.

Wheels America will fix them, both straighten, fix nicks, re-polish, and re-clearcoat for a fixed price. Good as new, around $200 or so I believe.

I will also Quote Mac's Line "Dude WTF do you do to your Marauder??"
I live in one of the 5 Boroughs of NYC. According to some local polls, we have the worst roads in the US. Especially the infamous BQE where its nothing but potholes and uneven surfaces and I have NEVER bent a rim. I have even hit a nasty pothole one time and still managed to pull away Unscaved.
How fast are you hitting potholes?? Or are you launching your Marauder off curbs??
Maybe you should learn not to drive the Marauder like your Blazer!!

Really as good as new? Does anyone here have experience with them?

Haha if I was driving the Marauder like the Blazer all 4 rims would be shot as well as the suspension. I don't have that extra ground clearance to drive it like a car... haha. You have no idea how many sidewalks and things I drove over to go around traffic.... I mean... meh thats the truth.

Go to a Ford dealer and look at the Mustang book it has a lot of wheels that will fit the marauder for 200. new!!!!!
They ever have our rims on the inside page. Did not check the price. Found one I liked for $200. each and ordered them last week.

Check Ray the Dealer for a price.

Are they exactly the same or look just like them? Last time I looked they resembled Marauder rims, but aren't Marauder rims. Were these for a 2007 model?

wow.... michigan is also up there on the terrible roads list and I too have not bent a rim...

Same here ... I've driven all over the Detroit metro area and never bent one.

I think you have to really be trying to bend those forged wheels.

I live in pothole central I mean Michigan and I've gotta tell you I drive pretty aggressive and out of 7 car and 10 years of driving like this I have only messed up one rim ever. It wasnt on the MM, I used to have a Miata with 16" on it running 205/40/16 on it and I tell you what looked like rubber bands on it. Well had one tire go flat didnt realize it since you cant feel it with the tires. Made it about 2 miles and hit a pothole pretty much bare rim and the rim cracked on the inside and put a unseeable flat spot in it. Had the crack welded and had the flat spot balanced out couldnt even really notice it when driving and put another year on the rim before I got rid of her. So once again what the hell do you do with your car??

Dominick...www.fixrim.com is Wheels America like it's posted ^ there. They have several plants across the country, and one is right here in Arlington Heights. Last time I checked, it was 110 bucks per wheel, and that covers everything including high gloss polishing and clearcoat, they don't care how bad the damage, as long as the rim isn't out of round.

They have done no less than a dozen wheel for me, and it's top notch work. And, you can save the UPS frieght by dropping them off at the plant, and they'll give you a tour. BTW, they'll paint the inside and clearcoat any color you want, for an extra charge. IMHO, this is the way to go.

The replica wheels on e-bay are cast, not forged aluminum. Where you bent the rim, a cast would break out a chunk. It's a good deal, but only when you know what you are getting.

Genuine Marauder wheels are available from Ford Racing, part #M-1007-M188P, page 27 of the 2006 catalogue, 400 bucks each.

Also available as BigDog suggested, as a dealer upgrade for the '06-'07 Mustangs. This is a genuine Marauder wheel also.

Good luck!

its very clear to me why these cars cost so much, i feel it's to make sure that 18 y/o dudes dont drive em like a 84 buick century wagon. motorhead, i must admit its painful to read most of your posts, your seriously killing a piece of future collectability................ ..sad

Motorhead350

I'm not killing it, I'm enjoying it. I don't hit this and that and don't care. I take very good care of my car and stuff happens. You don't know... you just don't know. If I have a problem like a bent rim it happens. I know no one has admitted to bending a rim, but I know I'm not the only one. I'll make a video to show you how good of condition my car is in just to prove to all of you that I do treat it right dispite what you guys think. Do you think I'm trying to break stuff? Do you think I wanna destroy this car? The answer is no by the way. :shake:

I've been driving for 22 years and haven't bent that many rims. If I was you I would buy a set of the cheap knockoffs and use the money you save to install curb feelers.

have a nice day1) It's spelled "whining", K? 2) Roman calendar age hasn't much to do with anything here. You are as old as you act, and you my friend, are not acting your age either.

I'll take half of Motorhead's 843 "crap" posts as helpful (if not thought provoking), and cut the other half away as stupid crap responding to nay-sayers like yourself. The man takes a lot of heat here, and he earns a lot of this heat himself. I cannot disagree with this point, but it's not my point.

However, just whoT F are you to speak up so unkindly with 35 posts of your own?

Have you met Mororhead350?
I have.

Has he driven your Marauder?
He has driven my #1x Marauder, and with great respect for what this Marauder represents in our community. Never saw such kid gloves worn behind the #1x wheel, not even Bunny, or, Zack showed my #1x as much respect in Indy. Beat it to death, they tried...

What time/space have you spent cultivating this young man (or anyone) as a valuable member of our Marauder community?

I have met Dominick face to face (once at a race track, watched him launch his Blazer) and I have spent more than a few minutes getting to know him and his father (who has been mentioned in posts here).

Nothing to brag of, or, comment on, both strike me as average decent Mid-West folks, both of them. And, it was good time spent too, talking all sorts of Marauder stuff.

When you have more to work with (as I have), speak your mind and speak fairly, and without bias from imported from this board, which is just a real sick spin on Marauder stuff. Get to know who you are talking about before you talk about them, eh?

Skip that step, and you may become the next S.D.L.Q.T. of interest to this board...

hey mac, just who the f do you think you are talking to me in that fashion? i never did and never will disrespect any member of this site, nor anyone on earth. and as to acting my age, i feel an adult married man with three children is being very adult and responsible in telling a younger enthusiast that by the info in his posts it seems that a future car of collectable value and interest is at stake here. i know full well how fun it is to beat on a car, ive been dragging since i was fifteen years old. i meant no harm or insult to you or him, and im sorry you feel the need to stick your nose in anything i say or do. motorhead, no ive never met you, but im sure i will, i see you spend alot of time at da grove as i do as well, and im not a mean guy, you can ask several wisconsin members who HAVE met me. i just wanted you know, no harm intended. and mac, please feel free to read all my posts, i can fully and wholeheartedly promise they all contain nothing other than concerns and questions on my 03 mm, and sorry if that offends you...................good day btw, i can spell too, its called slang(whinin')
