I am thinking about trading in my wife's Escape for an 06 Lincoln LS. Anyone here have one or driven one? They went to a 5 year 50K mile warranty. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

i was test driving the 03/04 before i got the marauder. I liked the v8, although the 6cyl had pretty good pickup too. handling was ok, but i though the braking was a little sluggish. the interior was set up pretty well, but it didnt give you a lot of elbow room. i dont think a whole lot has changed with the 06.
i would give it a 7.5 out of 10

Thanks baltimoremm. I was looking at a Mariner and the LS Silver Birch caught my eye. Wife liked it to. Asked about a v6 but 06 only has the v8.

Yeah the LS's are nice. They ride and handle really well. Plus 06 and 07 lincoln have the new 5 year 70,000 mile powertrain warranty. And the 4 50 bumper to bumper. Nice car I compair it to a bmw 3 5 series.

The LS is history. The 06 is the last model year for them.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and this beholder says they look like a "Cheesebox on a Raft".

I drove a loaner (V6) for a week when my Continental was in the shop. Was not overly impressed, although if Lincoln would have upgraded the styling a bit to make it look less boxy, I may have considered buying a V8. What I did like about it was it had IRS. Something all RWD cars should have, including our MM's. Was glad to turn it back in to drive the Continental again.

Again, just because I don't like the looks, and was not impressed, does not mean that it would not be the perfect car for you. If you like it, buy it. (Don't listen to guys like me :rolleyes: )

We had a Jerry W tuned 268 rwhp 2000 LS Sport.

It was always a pleasure to drive. Handled like a sports car, had the power of a V8, and looked good in black with 17" chromies.

We traded up to an Aviator. Kids and all...;)

I just recieved a sale brochure in mail from my dealership offering this model.

I can only imagine how much fun this last 280 crank hp will be with a little tuning.

Stay away from the LS at all cost. PM me for details. Get her a Marauder

No front legroom for tall drivers. Compare to Jaguar S-type.

I went from a Continental to a 2002 LS before I got the first MM. I loved my LS. It handled great and the power was not bad. It was rated at 253hp. They are now rated at 280hp. The only bad thing was it was terrible in the snow. I had the 17 inch wheels with the performance tires. I never had a thing go wrong with it. It also had the best stock sound system I ever had in a car.

My nieghbor has one. I drove it and was very impressed by how well it handled and the performance of the engine.

I'd give it a serious look.

The wife just got a '06 LS in January. We had Dennis Reinhart's tune added to it. We love it. Put CAI on it. It was 0.2 sec behind my Marauder at the track. Brakes and handling IMO are great.

Long term issues????

I have one of each; I would do it all again, too.

LS == my daily driver
MM == her daily driver

LS has had 4 year 50K mile bumper to bumper since its first year, sad to see it go. To me, the product was dead when they cancelled the manual transmission in 2003.

I use 16" affordable snows on my LS and with a careful driver, the car does well in snow. At the same time, I like to take it "drifting" at every opportunity when it is snowing, kind of like driving a sprint car on dirt. I have 100K on my LS now, no major issues.
