I just got an offer in my E-mail on a lease for a '06 F-150 Super Cab XLT truck with the 5.4, towing package, shift-on-the-fly four wheel drive, and limited slip.

It's for 24 months and 10,500 miles per year.

What gives? Isn't this Fords biggest seller? It seems like a really good deal.

I'm not going for it for several reasons. One, I work for a living so my trucks tend to get awefully beat up. Two, just 21k total miles would kill me 'cause I love to drive, and Three, the sort of truck I normally drive costs less than $199 total and when it goes...it goes.

I haven't set foot in a dealership in two years, but this has got to be a $25,000+ truck. And it seems like a really good deal for some one. Am I missing something? What's up with Ford?

I would have to reckon a guess and say gas prices. I've been hearing ads on the radio for used SUV's around here for half blue book and a 500 gas card. I think these gas prices are finally catching up with the truck SUV market. I bet you companies that use trucks in there fleet are holding off on buying new ones and just fixing up there old ones to help with the cost of gas, so once again these are just some thoughts. Honestly I dont know but what I said previous would be a guess.

Sales of the F-150 have fallen off due to gas prices....just like the other SUV and Truck sales. They need to move metal so they are quietly increasing incentives.

I took Ford up on the offer and picked myself up a new 2006 F-150 Supercrew XLT for super cheap. Its a sweet truck. The F-150 is the best vehicle Ford builds IMO.

If you have the 5.4, I believe Lidio has a tune for it.

Zero down, first month payment, deposit, tax, title, ect.

They didn't say what the deposit was. It still sounds like a pretty good deal. I imagine the gas milage would be the kicker though. That, and me trying to keep it in decent condition...

I think you're right. I haven't had time recently, but I do need to get over there and look into it.
