Where do I start, what a weekend.
After a long 3 week wait, I finally have my second Marauder home from New York. I purchased Nomad's Marauder with a blown engine. Got screwed by 2 transport companies, so I had to send my buddy out with a truck and trailer to get it. Got it back to my house Saturday night at 11pm. (Now pay attention to times, its important.)

Sunday Morning comes around and Im wrenching at 9am sharp. I have a spare engine on the stand for this car with 19,500 miles. The new MM has 21,000 on it so these 2 are made for each other! The car came in with a Vortech Air/Water kit but this is my new daily driver so Im going N/A.
From 9 to 12, I removed all the Vortech stuff, plumbing, hoses etc.
Had my buddy stop over about this time to help me get the torque converter nuts off, what a pain. 3:15 pm and Im off to the girlfriends parents for dinner. The motor is ready to pull. Check these pics out:

This sucker went out in a blaze of glory! I dont have a shot of it, but it took out the oil pan as well.
Now, Left dinner about 8pm cause I have the itch, and its not the jock variety. Got back to the garage about 9pm and immediately pulled the engine.

But before it was out..........

Here a shot of the only clearance problem I will have: The Oil fill cap is hitting. No problem, Ill just modify the cap or replace it with a different style.

More KB pics in my gallery
What a sight, 2 disabled Marauders. But I own em both, so cheers to that!

And finally, at 4am, everything is done, back to NA. Waiting for daylight to start er up. Notice the 98 Cobra timing cover. I like this so much better.

Took a cat nap, got her running, and perfect I might add. I had to reprogram the tuner for NA and EGR delete, and all is perfect.
8:20 am and here she is in the lot of my job.

Shes filthy and got a big zit, but at the rate im going, all will be cured soon.
Do the math, 33 hours from delivery of the car and I have a rock solid, reliable daily driver. I even cleaned the garage.

Very cool man! Awsome indeed.

Perhaps I missed something, but what is the problem with the oil fill cap? What is it hitting and how?

The oil fill cap on the Kenne Bell Blower.
Here is where it contacted the insulator: I covered the fill cap with yellow wax pen. The other area is from the belt hitting it at an earlier time.

Look here. the cap is where the red tag is.

When I tear down the other motor, I was planning on selling the heads if they are not damaged.

Did I read this wrong or should you also have another Vortex S/C kit for sale??

Zack,Do you think a Lightning KB inlet would work on that blower?
I know you have no problem moving the MAS air and Battery just wondering if that may make the swap a little easier.

I will look into it, for sure.
I could move EVERYTHING to the drivers side. All I would have to do it cut the inlet off the passenger side and weld a plate in.
Then I would reweld it onto the drivers side.
Anything can be done to anything, just a matter of how much time and $$$$.

Nice going, keep us posted.

I bought a 1965 VW Van with a blown engine in Tenn, shipped a long block to Tenn and swapped out in 11 hours.

Drove home the next day. The heads were so loose she didn't develop much power until I had a shop tighten them up.

Ended up driving her up and down the East Coast twice.

Looking back I don't know how I did it.

Zack, I was feeling that with all the work you had lined up with your cars that you would be able to rehab my grill for months. I should have known that you were going to do them both in a week. I will ship it out on Wednesday. Unreal so far. Keep it up. Hi to Becky:lovies2: Dennis:D

Nice work.

If you decide to sell the Vortech, I would include the water pump pulley that is ground down.

Keep me in mind, I would like a set to build., actually any stuff you have other then the block I would be interested in to build up my stock short block into a complete engine.
