Just wondering what people are using to keep their spare tire cover in place? The original pieces of black duct tape stopped working a few months ago. I cleaned things up a little and put some fresh pieces on there and now those are slipping off. Any good ideas would be appreciated. Tired of opening the trunk and the cover has slipped off the tire and sitting there.

Thanks,

I use bungee cord that is strapped from one side of the trunk hinge mount to the other. Need pics?

Jumper cables, sweaters, jackets etc. crammed upon top of the spare hold the spare cover in place. :)

See this is what I use my trunk organizer for. I like a clean trunk as much as I like a clean interior this is a little pet peeve with the cover always sliding off. You think they could have come up with a little better way to mount this or make a full cover for it.

I am on the road right now and the pics I would like to share are offline.

I do not have a spare tire any longer, but I still use the oem cover to hide something.

I used contruction board from the local craft store and glued it (CRAFT GLUE) to the inside of the tire cover to stiffin it all up and keep the (tire) shape in order.

I glue gunned velcro to the inside of the beefed up cover, and it now holds the cover in place at WOT.

Yeah, right...

Just as I was about to see your posting. I just thought of the same idea.

I have a small portable air compressor in a case that I store on top of the tire. My tire cover never falls off.
