All Note.

Just got my oil lab report back from Blackstone Lab's.
In the comments section it says---

"Warren: Wear is improving for your 4.6 Ford engine.
You are using the same miles each oil change (5K) and though
we don't understand why, your wear just keeps on getting better."

My engine is aging slower!!!

Since---2004-2005-2006
Copper dropped from 38ppm to 12ppm
Iron dropped from 17 to 11
Lead dropped from 2 to 0

I am thrilled -- this stuff adds more hp and saves the engine.
just found out today I can add it to my trans fluid and it lowers temp;.
As well as the diff. It really works and works great.
Called the Pres. and owner and he said it is being used to drill
thru titainium twice as fast and the drills last longer! Also used in racing
applications. Helps the engine spin up faster as well as the SC if you have one.

Comes in 16oz. bottles and I add 8oz per oil change.
Forgot to mention it's called Oil Extreme

Can be ordered thru D. Reinhart.

I will attach my oil report.

Warren...It looks like you're not reading the whole report from Blackstone.

Sounds like another "pill in the gas tank" to me.

Warren,

I use Mobil1 oil.
Blackstone Labs has told me that I hold the record for the LONGEST BREAK-IN PERIOD of any Mercury Marauder.
It took over 50,000 miles for my copper levels to drop to a normal level.

So now I am waiting for the engine to fall out from under the car......

Have any of you Marauderers use the Amsoil 5W30 or the Amsoil Racing 5w30 ?

STRYKER.I use amsoil 5w20 change every 5000miles and it s doing a good job of keeping engine clean. I have never had oil checked out yet...

warren, I don't want to rain on your parade, but those wear numbers, although very good, are not unusual. Between 20,000 and 45,000 miles (all with Mobil 1 5W-30), my copper dropped from 34 to 19, iron from 17 to 13, and lead has been holding at 1.

The Motorcraft 5W-20 you are using is a superb oil; I would be hesitant to credit your good numbers to the additive.

Have any of you Marauderers use the Amsoil 5W30 or the Amsoil Racing 5w30 ?I'm not familiar with any AMSOIL racing oil other than their 60-weight...do you have a part number?

As far as their regular 5W-30 oils, the ASL (true synthetic) is an excellent oil...the XLF, like most synth-blends, is good for 7,500 miles.

Hey guys....

Why would copper levels be high on a new motor??

I figured high copper meant the Babbit it the bearings was gone and the crank was running on the copper base metal??:argue: Where else would copper come from in our engines??

Why would copper levels be high on a new motor?? jack, copper is frequently high during break-in. In fact, the GM LS1 motor is notorious for shedding large amounts of copper for a fairly long time.

Where else would copper come from in our engines??Copper can come from a lot of places: bearings, bushings, gasket materials, valve guides; it can leach from the oil cooler, or anything made of bronze.

As long as the ppm is dropping, it's of no concern.

Some guys would call that stuff "Snake Oil", but not me!

I call it "MOUSE MILK".

which oil is the best to useblkwidow, if you ask that question of 10 people, you'll get 12 different answers. There IS no "best"...here's a list of highly regarded oils: (in no particular order)

Mobil 1, Motorcraft, AMSOIL, Royal Purple, Pennzoil Platinum, GC (German Castrol, not to be confused with the *****e North American stuff)...
i am using almost a quart of oil between changes. "between changes" tells us nothing...how many miles?
what is good for the trans.shoulkd i also look into a trans cooler Use Mercon V only. Just about any flavour will do, although some here have had issues with AMSOIL causing shuddering. An auxiliary transmission cooler is always a good thing, but is not strictly necessary unless you have a power adder and drag your car a lot, or if you regularly tow with it, or drive it like a nitwit...
