Is this real or not? Damn special effects are so good these days, nothing is real anymore, ya think?

I would guess....yes - it is real.

I have seen a lot of fighter footage. This one is more movie-ish, but still a lot of the same manuvers.

Kinda cool video ..... real or not!

Is this real or not?
My take is this is a mix of live and special effects video.

I vote mixture of real & CG. Delta wing acrobatics look real but the first one is missing vapor trails & heat shimmer. Look at the scenes where they are together. The delta wing has vapor trails and heat wave shimmer while the other doesn't.

Those Jets look CG,mixed in with canned footage. There would have to be a third jet filming it and there wasnt any vapor from the film jet when they showed the front of the following jet.

Never forget the photographer. Like when you see a pic of your GF with the 3 friends she went away with sitting on her bed in the hotel. You have to ask yourself, Who is taking the picture????

Lots of CG/greenscreen effects. Plane casts no shadow, no exhaust, no vapor trails in the early part that I watched. But its darned purty anyway!

What was that short, stubby (British?) plane? A trainer?

Real. That is a RAF fighter. The Air Force put together a similiar video, on sale at the BX now. Basically they took a lot of footagge from the fighters during their Red Flag fighter exercises.
