I know alot of the folks on here have classics in their garage. I'm interested to see what other people consider their baby (besides the marauder), whatever it might be. I'll start by showing off the caddy. (Hope i remember how to attach these photos)

My trucks a classic to me. It's one of those "No one cares about it, except for me vehicles." I know it's already a classic.

VERY nice Cutlass. I used to have an '86 Cutlass Supreme Broughm that I loved and would like to have an '86-'88 Cutlass again, especially an '88 with the composite headlights or a 442 of the same years, but you can never find them in good shape any more.

I like the G-Body cars.

Nice cars guys! Is that a 67' Camaro?

Yeah, a coupe that was one of those "order what you want" hybrids so common to Chevy back in that time. 327 Turbo Fire, Turbo 350 Tranny w/B&M Quicksilver slap shifter, Eaton 10 bolt Posi, tilt steering. Stripes and cowl hood are my addition. Car was originally an aquamarine color.

This is a good idea, I started loving the old cars first, but there are alot of late model car that are cool now. For my 1968 Fairlane and 1973 F-100 go to my web site in my sig.:burnout:

I think of this as more of a "future classic." It's not that old yet!
Anyway, here is what is collecting dust in my garage:

It's an '84, owned it since 1988. Currently equipped with a 454 and a 700-R4 trans.

Thanks for the props Marty ! (and whatever you did to get the picture to show up in the large format) :D

I've got a long way to go yet. Getting the rechroming done now. Car is running a 428CJ dual quad setup w/ a 5spd TKO. 3.70 gears with Strange and Moroso rear end parts. (I shelled the factory stuff). Put the disc brakes on all 4 corners. I haven't gotten the carbs tuned correctly yet. It is a B*TCH living at 4500' elevation.

Back in the day my buddy in High School had a 67 Fairlane GT and I loved it. So I finally got to the point where I could get one. Been working on it for 4 years now. Of course doing the Marauder slowed the project but that is how it goes eh?

Good luck on getting yourself one. There are a lot of them out there fortunately.

Where did you source parts for your Cobra II? I have a buddy that is redoing one for his son and is having a helluva time. The car was a real basket case and finding parts for it seems to be VERY difficult. Fabrication has been the order of the day !

My brother-in-law bought the Cobra II new in '77, and I purchased it from him in 1983. It was stored in his garage with the original (dead) battery, original tires, and around 40k miles. In the 23 years I've owed it I haven't had to replace any major parts- just the normal wear items like brake pads, shocks, etc. Although I did have the weak 4 speed tranny rebuilt around 20 years ago due to some whining bearings. The stock two barrel 302 isn't much on power, but it was stronger than the stock tranny proved to be!
The only thing I can remember needing that was a real pain to find was a clutch cable and I believe there was a place in CT that I was finally able to find one from. I think the name was something like "CT Mustang II", but that was in pre-internet times and I just Googled it with no matches.
I have accumilated a few extra parts for it over the past several years from eBay, just to have those hard to find things on hand in case I need them.
The body parts, louvers, etc are all stock on mine and fortunately are still in good shape. I removed the stripes in '93 because they were cracking (they were all decals) and repainted it solid black (pic with the stripes attached).

If you find a parts source let me know. I wish I could offer a good one for you to tell your friend about, but the parts availability for these 74-78 Mustangs is not any better than the limited following they have.

Dude, it gets even weirder: your birthday is 1 day (plus several years) before mine!

Our TC has replica Cobras. I got them as a package with Falken tires from Discount Tires Direct. Free mounting, balancing, and shipping! Total was about $700 if I remember correctly. Here's the info from their website:
Replica Wheel MSTG CB
Finish: Silver
Silver powder coat with a glossy finish.
16X8 4-108HC 15S

I thought long and hard about largers wheels, but decided to stay stock. I think they fill the wheel wells nicely.

I can't speak for his TC but mine runs nicely. I put a boost controller valve on mine. In effect it bleeds the boost signal to the computer so the computer doesn't see the true boost. Instead of the factory 15lbs in 1st, 2nd, and 10lbs in 3rd, 4th, and 5th, now I get almot 18lbs through all 5 gears.

Car gets a good 21mpg in town and about 23mpg on the highway.

I wanted one BADLY when they came out in 1988 and I couldn't afford one at that point. Now I've worked my way through 4 of them, this being my 5th and a keeper.

Eric,

We bought the car new and it has about 75,000 miles on it. When it was a daily driver it was very reliable (after I replaced the TFI module). But now it has a few electrical problems. Which seem to be pretty common based on some web research I've been doing. Lately it has an appetite for alternators. I installed a PA-Performance high output alt. yesterday and drove it a bit. Still a lot of fun to drive!

Sweet! Love the big Gal! My brother has an XL just like that (but not a convertible) that my dad bought in '75 for $1000. A neighbor has a coral convertible that is awesome. Always loved the lines on that model.

Az,

I bought a hallman-type boost control valve for mine but haven't installed it yet. I need to get it back to running reliably again, first. It's nice to know someone has gotten results with these things. Though mine's an auto, so it probably can't handle 18 lbs of boost.

Nice toys Mike. 20hp in the Model T, does Dianne have an 'Oh *****' bar to hang onto?

No bars, no belts, but if you look close, I have what was called a fat man's wheel. You can lift up the wheel to slide into the drivers seat. Diana does an "Oh *****" when I lift it as we are driving along :P

Can't remember the stock size right off the bat. The new tires are 225/60R-16, though. That's probably stock, right?

YEP... Tks.. the tires look like they have a nice footprint to them. Perhaps the rims are a tad wider than stock.

Az,

I bought a hallman-type boost control valve for mine but haven't installed it yet. I need to get it back to running reliably again, first. It's nice to know someone has gotten results with these things. Though mine's an auto, so it probably can't handle 18 lbs of boost.
:)

I would be careful. Within the first week of installing the boost controller I blew the headgasket in mine. Replaced it and had a valve job while I was there. No problems since then. I have about 140k miles on her now !
