You are correct sir! And DEFYANT I feel stupid for never picking up on the influence to your picture... now I get it! Next question: What happened to the original owner of Christine?

Well they dont make that shade anymore according to the detective. Arnie told him he bought it at Bakers auto but tossed out the receipt.

Is there a behind the scenes story behind what the color is? Or is it a limited color since Christine was the only red Fury on the assembly line in the begining of the movie??

2 parter, what was the mileage when they first started Christine?, and how many miles was on her when she was bought originally??

chasrein01
08-11-2006, 04:54 PM
The shade of red wasn't actually offered by Chrysler that year on that model. It was the following year, but creative license was used by Stephen King when writing the story.

93+ thousand miles when he first saw he, 88+ thousand when first started.

Half right 93,745 is the exact.
I meant the mileage when Christine was purchased back in 1957.

You may be right. It's been so long since I've seen the movie that I forget whether it was in it or not.

So in the book anyway, the car was painted Autumn Red and Ivory White.

On a side note, on ebay last week the Christine IHRA car was for sale. Its not listed now, somebody must have bought it.

I did a little research and they used a Ford Red in the movie.

What song plays as Christine finally starts after Arnie got into an arguement with his girlfriend?

Blackened300a
08-21-2006, 02:42 AM
"I wonder why I love you like I do"

OK tough Question here, There were only 2 fords in the entire movie and they were in the background.
One was a side shot the other was a rear shot, What were the 2 cars and where were they parked??
"hint" the colors were silver and blue

Observation: You notice that there was not one black person in the entire movie?? Not even in the background, the stands or even on the Football teams.

When Christine goes threw the fire(actually over the pumps) @ the gas station if you pause it and go through frame to frame you can see the driver of the car behind the tint.

Blackened300a

That movie was full of mistakes but I still Love it.
Notice when Christine smashed Buddy's Camaro, when the hood came off it was obvious that there was no engine in it? Or when Arnie says "show me" and Christine repair's itself, Notice how the front end is already together at the start, but its crushed mid-scene?

I think I may have a photo or two of the actual movie car buried in a box around here some where.

It was at a museum up in Sarasota. Took the pic(s) back @ 1999 or so during a vacation trip ... before we even had moved down here.

When I get my scanner fixed, I'll try to see if I can find the pic(s).

I overheard the owner (sitting in the driver's seat) telling folks this WAS one of the movie cars...and he had the provenance to prove it.

I also heard the dog^^^ growl at Donny while he took the pic...guess it's a "mailman-thing".

Blackened300a

That looks more like a orange rather then the deep red that Christine was. ( I guess you really cant that shade of red anymore!)
The steering wheel in the movie was White with Red Trim. Not Black and white trim. Also the Seats were solid red in color, not the two tone.
I still have to hand it to the guy, its a beautiful car

And I thought you said you knew the movie well. The very first person Christine killed was a black man on the assembly line, because he dumped cigar ashes on the seat.

True, he was the first person killed by Christine, but the Question was "Who is the first Christine killed for Arnie?"

Arnie didnt own the car when it was rolling down the assembly line!!

So I indeed know the movie well  <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
