This event starts on a thursday?I thought it was fri sat and sun this might be a problem:(No, it does not start on Thursday, and this is the problem with "add-on" threads for any main event. The event is Friday the 6th, Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th, of October.
Due to work/vacation schedules and travel time, some of us are brainstorming arriving early, while others see themselves staying late. All of it is just floating ideas on how to spend the time.
Zack and I will prolly drive down Thursday nite, but we're not sure yet, so, the brainstorming continues. I'll be on vacation and unrestrained in my time budget, but because Zack has to be back at work Monday, we may leave early Sunday. It may be this way for others, but none of this should affect the overall plan in any way.
Please stay tuned to the original thread for these ever-changing details, nothing is set in stone yet. Once we have a plan of what is happening, when and where, fit yourself in where you can? Folks are always catching up and falling out as any plan moves forward. As we have seen in the past, a full schedule opens many doors for folks with limited travel and vacation time.
At the present time, a "parade of Marauders" through Seymour's center appears the premier event. Start there and expand on that, forward and backward, as it fits your personal availability?

Steve,
What Mac is trying to say is if people can travel down early, as a few may just do that, certainly that is their choice.
The "Main Event" is the parade on Saturday. The reason we are all traveling to Seymour.
Let's stick to the main thread, as all questions can be asked there.
Multiple threads are a pain in the a$$ for coordinating an event.
Ask me how I know. :) ;)

Sorry to distract away from orig thread. I met a MM'er today and told him to look in the Buckeye forum to find into on Oktoberfest and hoped he would make it. Carded him also, but didn't have a pen to put my name or contact info on it. Couldn't think of where else to point him to that would be easy for a mm.net newbie.

We plan on making lunch at or about noon on Friday in Batesville(the Sherman house) I hope your plans include making that. There is really nothing to see in Semour other than the Oktoberfest, hence the Friday cruise. I will be starting a poll as to who is planning on coming which day as time grows closer. Please keep your eyes on the original thread.

Mac, this link http://www.seymouroktoberfest.com/ says it starts the 5th...KillJoyI hear ya, Steve, but we have to make sense of the days, dates and times.
Zack and I have been to this event for several years now, it's most definately occuring on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and without any confusion on that.
As the Sun moves over our open plains, and over the years of the Roman calendar use, the dates of every calendar change. Once upon a time, the Friday stuff was the last Friday in the month of September, go figure?
I can't help it if the "official" Seymour 'Fest website can't track the Sun's changes in the Roman calendar, or, vice-versa. Obviously, some clerk somewhere in Seymour hasn't looked at a 2006 Roman calendar and updated the web site. It's been late before, thanks to Farmer's Almanac, and lazy eyes. Maybe too much beer too?
Nonetheless...Count on events for us on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and this year, which is also 6, 7, and 8 October. I am sure of this, it's the schedule I am going by. But, hey...May turn out to be something altogether different by then too, so, stand by?
