My friend Lisa just found out her father has 3 or fewer months to live last week. Well I just found out that today he has taken a turn for the worse, so she is headed back home to Corpus Christi to be with her father and mother. Any prayers or positive thoughts would be greatly appreciated for Santiago who served in the Marines for 33 years. Thank you.

Mike

Update: Santiago has a blockage going to his liver so the Dr.'s are going to try to put a stint in to open up the blockage......his blood is not going thru the liver and is not being cleaned which is causing him to turn a yellowish color. Things are not looking good at this point for the stint to work.

:( Very sorry to hear the sad news. Hopefully with lots of praying, he can pull through. The doctors today only have technologhy to go by. But we have prayers to go further and it works at times.:shake:

Mike: Sorry to hear that a man who has devoted so much of his life to protecting the freedoms we have today is facing such a difficult challenge. Stay strong for Lisa.

My guess is as a Marine, her father has the tools and is well prepared for the journey he may take. Its an honor to say a prayer for this man and his family.

He is a very strong man and am glad to have methim. He had 2 tours in NAM as well as many other acolades. He was a "Gunny" I believe that is what it's called. He was involved with the howitzer firing. He doesnt want anyone to worry about his condition and says that he is still alive and wants to do things as long as he is able. Even on a day he was not feeling well he took Lisa, Hiswife, and me all to the Texas Treasure Casino ship. Even though I dont know him very well It is great to spend time with this special man, and his family.

It's great to hear that you had a great time with "Santiago's family" on a day that this "Marine" wasn't feeling well. But he must be a very special person to put others head of him at times when he wants to be with people he really cares and love. It's an "Honor" for me as an ex-serviceman to salute this great Marine and family man. "Hoorah":flag:

Hi Mike:
How did the Doctor's visit turn out?

Thinking positive thoughts!

Best regards,

:( Well, its not good news..... The Dr. is either unwilling or unable to perform the surgury.....Santiago was in the hospital bed I.V. in arm awaiting prep for surgury and was told it was canceled. No explination given. Found out yesterday that the Dr. said It would probably be more painful that help at this point. Santiago has been given mediacation to make him feel more comfortable but that is all. I took tomorrow off so that I could go down to Corpus to spend some time with him and his family. I will give another update when I get back on Friday.

I wanted to give an update on Santiago's condition:

He has taken another bad turn. The medication has not worked the last few days and he now has Pneumonia. He can no longer move or talk much. I am going to Corpus this weekend to see him. I am so saddened by this turn of events. I went with Lisa to Church last night to pray for him and his family to give them the strength to go thru this tough time. Please continue your prayers and well wishes. I know the family appreciates it.

Than you,

Mike and Lisa
