If the Shelby GT500 were to sell at anywhere near list, I'd consider it, but as I can't cotton to $30k markups, whaddyall think of the "'Po boy's Shelby"?

http://www.caranddriver.com/carnews/11436/2007-ford-mustang-shelby-gt-announced.html

It's got the Shelby name attached to it, looks sharp, yet still should stand out from the pack without breaking the bank, so... opinions?

Hey why not ?.

I'd be more than happy with a nice GT convertible in Tungsten Grey, Windveil Blue or Redfire w/a black gut/top along w/a Lidio tune my damn self.

Maybe I'd swing for the new for 07 paint choice of "Alloy" which appears to be a really deep charcoal ..... but I'd have to see it in person first ... not just on Ford's website.

For the same/ little more $$ I would rather have a 1970 302 Boss or for a little less a 1970 MachI.

I think the style of these cars are timeless, and as an investment, hard to beat. I can't see the present day Shelby attaining similar levels of value in the future. Very nice car mind for sure, but somethin is missing to me. Just my .02.

How many versions of the new gen Mustangs are there now?

The Hertz Shelby, the Shelby GT 500, the Mustang GT/CS, The Pony Package, Roush, Saleen...I'm getting lost in the options.

Decontenting between model years aside, there is only one Marauder, and I'm happy I got a slice of automotive history in my garage.

There is a nice 302 Boss for sale here at North Texas Nissan for 28k. Just enter "mustang" in their pre owned inventory.

The new Shelby GT500 Mustangs are gorgeous looking cars!!

But, I refuse to pay MSRP for ANY vehicle...let alone the dealer's "Market Value Adjustment". (re:anxious buyers rape)

Also, FORD has managed to turn the GT500 into an absolute PORKER!
4,000+ lbs for a ponycar!!!....WTF??? Do they use LEAD sound deadening material?
