Subject: BOB'S MARAUDER STOLEN TONIGHT
Rex and Andi
Tonight while Bob's Marauder was parked directly in front of his front door and while everyone was home, a short black man went to their door and Ashley, Sharon's granddaughter who is 15 answered the door. He held up a gun, entered their home, and demanded the keys to the Marauder. Bob went into the den and handed him the keys. The man left and stole the car!
Bob, Sharon, Ashley, Rob and Rob's little boy were all there.
I will talk to them tomorrow to find out what exactly happened and to see if they have any further information. I know they will be up all night tonight.
Take caution, and leave alot of lights on.
Take care

OMG! At least everyone is okay..... Cars can be replaced. People cannot. I hope the car is returned and that POS is put in jail, and labeled as a Pedophile. Pulling a gun on a kid :mad2:

It's probably the unintended consequence of everyone installing alarms. It's just easier to steal the keys.

Glad everyone is ok and I hope they recover it in good shape. With the Dream Cruise last weekend I hope it was not someone scouting them out. :(

You bet I will. I'll pass along anything I hear.
Like everyone else has said, no one was hurt and that's what is most important.
Beyond this being marauder related, I'm more troubled by the idea of being held up in your own home by a gunman. A simply chilling thought.

I don't think so. This person wasn't at the cruise with us anyway. We really don't know Bob as he's not an MCM guy and it doesn't seem he goes to shows and such.
More likely just another Marauder theft. Marauders were the hot ticket here in deroit for the drug dealers and other bad elements until the 300C took over that spot 18 months ago. That and the fact that the marauder (as a %) is one of the most highly stolen country wide.

New Orleans has been thru a series of crime waves. Most has been drug related.
However when the drug related crimes go up so do the non drug related in short order. W/ a 7% conviction rate the criminals rule.
What always tempers the non drug related crime is when one of the perps gets shot dead by Joe average citizen! Why? the criminal knows there is a 7% conviction rate of being sent to jail and also knows armed Joe average citizen has a 93% rate of sending him to hell.:D

The important part is Bob & his family are alright, hopefully the law will do their best to return the MM to its rightful owner.

It is an awful situation when you feel you must be armed to answer the door...but you have to protect your own. Dennis

That is just insane, thank god no body was hurt. I'm just waiting for the day for something to happen to mine, that's why I took the steps of installing 2 starter kill switches in the car and a negitive battery shut off switch. If someone is going to steal my car they are going to have to work for it or have a tow truck.

The guy probably would have come back in the house and started blasting away if he couldn't start it.
I think a hidden timed cutoff switch maybe good. Perp gets up to 2 miles away, then car dies. (this might cause loss of power liability if perp hits someone..?) A possible solution to that may be to simulate a problem I had early with the car, cut the signal of the crankshaft position sensor. Engine still runs, but no rpm increase or acceleration, and brakes and powersteering still work.

Wow
Very Scary Indeed.
This is entirely different when they enter your home with your family at gun point.
Wish them luck please.
