Well, we had talked a bit on Saturday's great show in Jacksonville MD about what to do for September.
It had been mentioned that there's a pretty good cruise-in on Saturday evenings down in Manassas, VA at the Burger King. On a good night with good weather this big lot is more than full and there's cars on the grass.
Here's 2 links to pictures from the cruise, one of them it was very early in the season and threatening rain hence to low turnout. The other link with more pictures is a bit more representative.

Now, that's not quite an entire event. There was a discussion about whether or not there was a good place to eat nearby - there is, but not "next door."
There's a few options here, and a few things I learned about...
At Manassas Airport (behind the BK) there is a relatively new lounge-restaurant. I don't know much more about it.
There is also a Tank museum there - which is new to me. But, I know the history of that, and a certain event that occurs usually in September. The owner of these tanks has a day (usually a Saturday, same day as cruise-in) where he takes the Tanks out (WW1, WW2 era, etc.) and drives them around the fields out there. I will find out when this is.
Generally that event is around 11am or noon. To hit the BK show we should get there around 300-330pm.
Between that time there's plenty of restaurants within 5-10mins, with the backroads we can convoy to any of them.
So...a September meet *could* look like this...
- 11am or 12pm - ~1pm - Tank Museum / Tank show (if going on)
- 1pm - 2pm - Convoy and Lunch
- 3-330pm - Arrive at BK Show
- Stay there for a few hours, leave when ready.
I can find out more info about the tank museum and when the tank show is. Also nearby is the Manassas museum which is a good place to go for Civil War buffs, not to mention the Civil War battlefields about 10-15 minutes from BK.
If we have this meet I'm fairly certain my dad's '65 Park Lane Marauder will be ready to go and this will be close enough for him to feel comfortable bringing it out.
I know it's more of a "southern" meet for some CAM'ers but I think the cruise-in here is pretty good and there's plenty of events, attractions, and good places to eat to spend some time prior to the cruise-in to make it a fun day.
Let's gauge the interest and go from there.
