Be careful what you ask for. This weeks AutoWeek Magazine has an article about an after market business stuffing an '03 Cobra motor in the SVT Focus. Some minor adjustment to the sock towers and the motor fit like it was made for the car. They tweaked it to about 500HP. Also installed Independent rear suspension, Cobra 6-speed and RWD, dual exhaust. Drive shaft fit nicely down the center were the exhaust was run. Talk about a suprise at ricer meets, when they burn the "rear" skins!

There have been a couple of magazine articles on a kit Kugel has to transform the Focus to RWD, and install a V8

ATI Motorsports built that Focus. They bought a SVT Focus, sold it's drivetrain, bought a 03 Cobra, sold it's body, and shoved the 03 Cobra drivetrain in the Focus, along with the IRS. They want $70k for it...

Sable what Sable, imagine the first hotshot that pulls up next to a 500hp Focus in a viper or such and gets completely and utterly destroyed. I gotta get one of those!

Yeah, but for $70k, you could buy TWO 03 Cobra's and smoke the doors off a viper with both of 'em...(A couple mods required though)...

Yep rc but the svt body comes from the mexican plant right now although we do have a few svts in prove out... Get someone to send met the parts I'll get the prove out people to build it. ; ) well stick a manufactures plate on it and have serious fun ...:D

This all sounds WAY too familiar... oh wait, it is!! Back in the day, someone was kean enough to buy up a few Ford Fiestas and gut them. In went a Taurus SHO Yamaha V6 and transaxle (cars were converted to a rear engine setup). In fact, I think Jay Leno bought the first one and has it in his auto collection. The car was dubbed "SHOgun". The 220hp mill is augmented by a NOS system that pumps the little beast to 310hp and a 12.9 e.t.
