I have had this along with a bunch of other great CM items on my MM for close to a year now I think.

Install was pretty easy, and the supplied glue was so good it covered up my screw-ups on the backside where I might have cut wrong, etc.

Got it perfectly centered on the front, with "Marauder in the middle in red and the godshead over it.

The area of the cover right over the top radiator pipe (with the word "Marauder") looks like it has come loose from the UHI. It really gets hot there, and I guess it melted the glue. Doesn't look too bad, but about 1 square foot is loose and is not in contact with the UHI so looks slightly saggy.

Any sugestions? It is completely tight all along the rest of the UHI.

If this stuff wasn't so tough to cut, I would do a neat line at the border of the area and respray glue. I have a feeling it would just come loose again in time though because of the heat.

Figure I'm stuck with it but it's worth a shot to see if you guys might have any ideas.

Thanks as always,

Norm

Bummer. My UHL has been on for a year and no sags yet. Was your insulator pad pretty dirty or dusty when you put the liner on?

Maybe you can peel enough of the liner off from the front of the pad enough to shoot some more glue behind where it's sagging. That or take it off and cut a slit in the liner from behind and glue everything back up. Good luck.

Brian, there isn't a part on the Marauder that you haven't broke. .....at least once.

Thanks, good suggestion. No, the thing was in good shape IIRC. Not too dirty at all. Sticks like hell everywhere else. Come to think of it maybe the thread / logo on the back end does not adhere quite as well.

I could cut 3 slots to make a "hinge" on the back side, and spray it up and then fold back down I guess. I had to cut the original UHI in a couple of places anyway when my old cold air kit was tearing it up (before I got my sweet PHP and Metco CF tube setup from DR :D), so marks on the backside don't matter anyway.

Thanks again.

Norm,

Call CAR Motorsports first thing tomorrow morning and we will assist you with the repair. When you do a "kit", applying the material / spray glue yourself; one must be sure to get adequate glue in all areas both on the insulator and on the material. This is an Ultra High Temperature Performance Glue that will not release due to normal engine heat, the release was due to weight of material versus amount of adhesive applied. We have never had an insulator covering "release" from a complete unit supplied by CAR Motorsports. There has been one other example of a UHI release from a customer installed kit on a C5 Corvette. Again, easily repaired. Awaiting your call, numbers below.
