If it's RWD...I kinda like it....but, I doubt it...most likely FWD/AWD like the 500.

Looks like a Cadillac. RWD would be cool. The right AWD with CVT and strong V8 would be fast and fun.

Looks more Euro. Guess that's the trend.

EDIT: BTW, does it have a name/place for more info?

Nice Passat.

Am I the only one who see's VW in tons of these new rooflines? It's getting boring...gotta try something different!

I dunno. I see my 92CV roofline in that car. The flatter rear window, and the little window behind the passenger door. It just reminds me of that.

A little VWish perhaps, but that only means they stole it from the 90's Panthers.

Not a bad looking car .....

But it looks to be nothing more than a stretched 500.

In fact it would not suprise me in the least .....

If that photo was nothing more than just a photoshop.

Also sits a bit too low for my tastes.

Actually I give the wrong impression I like the look for the most part, but seems like I've been seeing that roofline all too often these days and it started with the Passat. The new Impala's have a similar roofline, same with the 500, I'm sure there are others.

If they put a 5.4 DOHC motor in it and a supercharger, sign me up.

Ok this is what I get.....Caddy head lights, Fivehundred grille, Lexus lower grille, BMW wheels, LS rear, and looks more like a Taurus roof line to me.

That's nothing more than a current 500 lowered.

The 500 was designed by J Mays and took styling cues from a few different Euro models which everyone is picking up.

I for one like it. It is big, black, possibly V8 powered and rear wheel driven.

Ford may have something there,if it is V8,rear drive,I may buy one. if not ford will lose me to Dodge. the Marauder will stay in my garage. We oun the last true 4 door muscle car Ford produced.

Am I the only one to notice they got cheap and went back to 4-lug rims? Didn't they learn ANYTHING with the Fox Mustang?!?

Otherwise, I like it!

2008 Ford Crown Victoria
Redesign, based on next-generation, rear-drive Falcon platform developed in Australia.
From this link.

Me too, but no pics.

TAF, where'd you find that pic?

Australian Falcon is no slouch...
http://www.ford.com.au/range/falcon/models/xr8sedan.asp

That's roughly 350HP and 370lbft!

At 3900 lbs fully loaded, wow!

Why can't Billy pull a 'Pontiac' and bring that stuff stateside?! DUH!!!

You hit it on the head Sid. My thoughts exactly. Not a bad look though. I would put different wheels on it.
Something with a little lip in the rear if it comes RWD.

The roofline looks like an aero body Crown Vic to me, the 500 shares this styling.

I agree, the rear looks very similar to the Lincoln LS.

Tell you what...

If Billy offerred the above pictured ride with the above mentioned Australian Falcon running gear, I couldn't sign up fast enough.

But alas, I have nothing to worry about, since Billy the dinosaur hugger won't ever offer anyhting like it.

BTW, I checked the Aussie exchange rates. In May, it would have been about 36K, now about 39K. Not too bad for that much go.

Almost looks Photo-chopped...

A stretched Ford 500 that looks like a VW Passat, that looks like the upcoming Impala....:sleepy: .....:sleepy: .....:sleepy:

If they ever make it.....Ford will shove that weak kneed 3.0 V6 into that barge and make it work through an over taxed CVT.

The more garbage Ford and Chevy keep putting out there, the more I'm convinced that I will own my Marauder for a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time.

FORD stock has little room left to go down, so lets hope he makes some smart decisions and good changes.
I really want to see FORD quit bumbling & stumbling and get back to what they once were.
They once had a full line of vehicles to offer: from small economy cars all the way up to the BIG trucks...now they have the Mustang and the F150.
I would love to see more SVT projects and as much as we all drool over HP and fast cars;
Not every FORD product has to be a big, powerful vehicle...they did quite well with the Escort and Taurus lines.

If you'll didn't notice, Ford did not add the 3.5 liter Duratec (250hp) to the 500 or Montego as they promised earlier. The 500/Montego is in need of the power, especially if anyone has driven a Toyota Avalon or Nissan Maxima. The Avalon (265 hp) will run mid-14 sec. 1/4 miles all day long and will average 22 mpg. Ford needs to wait up quick.

I own a Montego and agree it seems to have the same power to weight ration of a Nash Rambler. That said, it seems to have more usable interior room than my MM and gets 30 mpg on the highway. Its a pretty decent day to day driver. One other thing, the headlights on the Montego are fantastic, I dont know what they are but they are the best Ive ever seen.

A little VWish perhaps, but that only means they stole it from the 90's Panthers.

The guy who styled the Passat with that roofline used to work for Ford. I think he is stuck on a roof profile he likes.
