I bought a JLT CAI from a member here and when I went to install I noticed a gap between the aluminum MAF adapter and the MAF body. It was quite large and due to the fact that the MAF is a little warped. Was there supposed to be a gasket there? The stock box has an O-Ring to seal it.

I made a thin gasket out of some closed cell neoprene and it took care of my warped MAF issue. I will finish installing it tonight but right now the yard work is calling. :(

Got a pic? My adapter is not aluminum. There was a square gasket that came with the JLT kit that I used. I did not use the original round gasket when I disassembled the stock intake.

The metal MAF adapter is an upgrade/update on the older kits?
Mine came with a plastic one.
I did see a crack of air (gap) between the maf and adapter that would not ensure intake air pass through the cone filter.

I don't have a pic but I pretty much made a square gasket. The material I used was originally one of those neoprene dash pads that's supposed to hold a radar detector or cell phone on the dash of the car. I think this is a much better use.

Mine had a gap, too. I used foam based emblem tape to make a gasket, then put a thin strip of aluminum AC duct tape on the outside and smoothed/polished it. No-one has ever noticed.
