Took car in for minor warranty repairs including the cracking of the headlight lens. The cracks are coming from the inside out especially on the pass. side. They look like thousands of tiny spider webs spreading out of left of center to right standing in front of car.
The dlr refused to submit claim stating that Ford would deny it and that they would get hit with the charge. I called Ford customer srvc. (very professional and polite) and after a long wait they came back and told me that the dlr. felt the lens was not bad enough to be replaced. (Why didn't dealer submeit claim and wait for Fords decision)?? I was upset. NOT BAD ENOUGH?? What would be bad enough? Ford as a consolation prize added an additional 15k mile warranty to the headlight lenses and stated that if condensation appears they would be replaced immediately. WHY NOT REPLACE THEM NOW?? NOT BAD ENOUGH, what is that??
At least I got 15k more warranty on lenses. I wonder if Toyota is that cheap with their warranty also? Thought you all should know.

This past April, I also had a "not bad enough" problem with the leather wrap on the steering wheel. The dealer evaluated the wheel for THREE days, finally determining that repair was definitely not possible, and that warranty replacement was definitely not possible also.
Since common sense and fair play seemed to be absent on the part of the dealer, I chose to purchase a new wheel from Ray Sr (TheDealer) in Pennsylvania, and replace it myself in my garage. Going from dealer to dealer, hoping to stumble over realistic problem solving, was not a viable option.
Steering wheel cost with shipping...$195.
Total time to remove & replace......45 minutes.
Satisfaction of doing it myself........priceless.

Ever since Billy took over they have been real tight on warranty.

Jack was generous with warranty which creates a loyal customer.

Try a different dealer.Correct me if I'm wrong, but once it's flagged in Fords Oasis system as being turned down(warranty claim) won't any other dealer do the same?
