Hosting is having a server that can hold the file so that a link can be placed here to reach it.

I don't know how to do it, but I think you need a web site to do it.

I can email you the file though. If you have Quicktime you can watch it from your own computer. Would take forever to download unless you have cable or DSL though.

Should probably post the whole story...

(Although the SS site was showing much enjoyment when a Marauder posted a 16 sec. run and lost against a Impala station wagon... Marauder ran into water on the track)

Actually, SS driver smoked the tires. You can almost see this in the video. He couldn't get hooked up

Actually, the SS, from what I understand, was a fairly well modified LT1...

SS driver came back at the next round...
** Lowered air pressure in tires
** juggled the line up so we could line up again

He took me by 0.27 Sec... He also had me off of the line by 0.14 sec. (1/4 mile times: His 15.0 to my 15.5)

At least on the first round, he sure thought he had to try pretty hard...

My car... bone stock... and about 3500 miles... I am just starting to baseline the performance.... The video was a 15.2 sec. run

It was a great day.

Hey Apanella,

I took this picture of (I believe. It's car# 890).

Have a few more shots of that. It's not from your run in the video, but I thought you might enjoy it.

Click me for pic (http://www.mercurygallery.net/mmnet/showphoto.php?photo=252)

Next time you get 'em.

Sure that's a real SS? There no factory silver SSes. Also, a "well modded" Lt1 would run better than a 15.0. just an obeservation.

I was _told_ that it was a (gold) SS clone with a well moded LT1...

So, I guess I can not be sure... The power plant "looked" from the surface like the other LT1s at the track

When the tires weren't smoking, he hooked up he was faster... but still a 15.0... At least that is what it says on the time slip.

However, I did notice that a bone stock Impala that I ran against was at 15.0, too. So I would guess a well moded version would be better, too... Maybe there were still some traction issues..??

To be honest, I do not have a good feel here... and a rather small set of data.

Anyone else out there want to gather more data? :)

Ah, it's all good. :) Sounds like an ex police cruiser someone has made a clone. The vid was cool and his tires were definatly smoking, kinda like when my mom took my brothers truck down the 130 once, she smoked up, pulled like a 2.9 60 foot, but she had dad and next time she a 2.1 60 ft, but let off at the eighth mile LOL. Hey, how many people's mom's have run the track though :)

the new jersey SS chapter has a few Caprice Classic LT1's that have been cloned into SS's. There is one in particular that everyone raves about, and that is a Lexus-gold one. The car really is gorgeous and looks identical to the B-body you were pitted against. Nice video, nice run, good job!

I know a lot of people take the easy road and do clone, nothing wrong with it of course, a close is just a sexy as the real thing :) I plan on bone stock looking with lots of high po mods myself.
