Rich, on a bright note, there seems to be a steady stram of new members.
Life goes on, but I plan on keeping at least one Marauder in my stable for many years to come.
And no, I don't want to talk about football...:alone:

I'll be completely honest there have been some very brief times where I've considered it. But extremely brief. Every other car I've owned I thought about it much more indepth.
The only reason is because there so many others things out there to try and I would look to free up the Marauder's worth as money to tackle other projects.
But then what the Marauder is, and it's capabilties, and my Trilogy setup quickly bring me back to Earth. This car does too many things too well, and I enjoy it way too much. Plus, there's plenty more "project" left in it if I want to.
I'll just have to save the rest of my pennies for that carb'ed '79-81 notchback Fox Mustnag race car project, the rat rod commuter car, Hearse performance rebuild, or other odd projects that catch my fancy. :)

I'm one of the "I sold my Marauder" members, but I do have a second Marauder. Without that, I couldn't do it.

They do get really good gas mileage. And the front wheel drive is so great in the snow.
Besides.... Marauders are a dime a dozen. I see at least one everyday!

It's Mercury's fault.
Lots of people like new stuff. They like how it looks, how it smells, and they like to be seen in something new. By pushing leases, the domestic auto industry has conditioned buyers (err, drivers) to get accustomed to driving something new every few years.
Problem is, Mercury ain't got nothing we want to drive. The BMW forums are loaded with people getting rid of their BMW, but they are replacing it with a new(er) one.
Mercury attracted us, then abandoned us.
Personally, it doesn't bother me. I'd much rather buy something used so those "gotta-have-new" folks can subsidize my car habit. And I'm going to keep my MM for a long time. But if I was looking to buy a new car just because I wanted something new it obviously couldn't be a Marauder.
Hopefully, the folks buying the Marauders will find MM.net and the community will continue to help the cars as they grow more unique every day.
