Having owned a Great Dane for the last 8 years, I'd have to say they need big names to match their size as well as personality. The first thing that comes to mind at the moment is either "Brigitte" or "Fergie".

In case you didn't already know:

They're great dogs, but have tender stomachs...don't let them eat outside the recommended diet. Oh, and between 6 and maybe 18 months they go through a chewing phase. Anything is game...I came home one day to find that ours (when around 9 months old) had literally pulled fence boards (treated wood mind you) off the inside of my backyard fence and had then chewed completely through several of the 1 x 4's when he got them off.

While they're young, have a video camera handy...they are so ungainly with those big 'ole feet, they get tripped up and do some hilarious acrobatics. They are also extremely strong while young...at around 15 months, I heard my 5 year old daughter yelling at the dog to stop. When I looked out the back door, the pup was dragging her across the backyard by the cuff of her pants like she was nothing.

We never clipped the ears on ours, I think it detracts from their personality, and it also keeps dirt, dust and debris from collecting in their ears...but that's just my opinon.

Hope she turns out great for you.

Name ideas would be very appreciated.

Based on the coloring, I think that "Sandy" would be appropriate.

If you are looking for a big name, then try ....

SANDIE or SANDIA

OddBall??? No kidding. SHE is cute. Can't use "she has balls" already taken. Perhaps you could buy the name from Mike(MM2004). Or perhaps "Money Pit 2" will work as she will eat your new house down to the ground. :D Dennis

The girl's name Fenia. In Scandinavian mythology, a giantess enslaved by the Danish king Frodi, who reigned peacefully for thirty years.

Fenia has 2 variant forms: Fenja and Fenya.

:) I don't know since everything around there is so supernatural, you can call her "Phantom". Watch how she disappears when you get mad!

I had a chihuahua I wanted to name 'woofer'. (double meaning being a stereo head)

I buy custom handmade speakers from a company Called Digital Designs, so the dog was called 'Dee Dee'.

Defyant Dog: DeeDee for short. Nice.

From HUA MULAN (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hua_Mulan), not Disney.

Or Disney if you're particular to that as well.;)

Laney, or Lanie, the Daney.

By the way, my avatar is my Shepherd / Dane mix.
We named him Tucker, because he is big and powerful like a Tucker.
