Yep. Gone. [For the sake of argument] Let's say, for whatever reason and however it happened, your Marauder was gone. Now, I want you to think of all the people you've met from this site, and think about the cars they own. Let's say all their cars were lined-up door-handle-to-door-handle, and you could grab the keys to just one of them. Whose car would you want? Other than yours, who do think has done the best all-around job of building their car?

Having met many people and driven many cars, I know which one I would take, hands down.

MikesMerc.

I feel Mike Zavislak has done the best job of building the "ultimate" Marauder.

No right-or-wrong answers here, purely a matter of personal choice/taste.

So, whose car would you "take"?

MartyO's LK.
I did drive it in GA for a brief period (it wasn't running and other folks were pushing it)- it handled pretty good.

Now thats a hard one. Their are 2 in my book : TMAC & Rick-N-Miami. Both of them like my self Keep their Marauder's in Beautiful Shape. If I had to pick Just one I'd lean a little more to TMAC's because it's garaged .

Now Chuck. I know you wouldn't get rid of your ride.At least I hope not.
If however you did in fact unload yours I will make the ultimate sacrafice
and venture to your place once a year and take you for a ride. Hows that?

My pick would be NAVCHAP'S.

That is one sweet ride.

If SergntMac still had KB#1x, that would be my first choice.

Mike.

My choice would also be the KB1X...whoever owns it :D

I cannot think of anything else I would do to THAT car!

Oh wow...Complex question, Chuck. This ought to bring out the best in us...

The Marauder is just too personal of a car. It's great alone, straight up. No ice, no water, no mixers...Just 100 percent hard core automotive booze.

Once you start to mod it, another story unfolds. On one hand, so little can be changed. OTOH, so much can be improved. Complex. Everyting depends on what you want your car to be for you.

Shouild I find myself in a position as you suggest, Chuck, and with the choices you present to me, I would look for the closest match in the line to these requirements, and in this order.

1) True bone factory/OEM stock production car.
2) Lowest mileage among them.
3) Silver Birch first, DTR next.
5) okay, okay let go of my arm, you're hurting me...Black.

If there is nothing to pick from in the first pass down the line, I'll just keep walking that line until I find what I would want among what's available.

But, I would drive away in another Marauder.

If I was given the keys for a short term loan, I would have to go with MartyO's Marauder.

I too would like MikesMerc car. Mike's car has to be one of the best built around. I also like Dave's car. If his car had forged internals I could live with his also. I would take either and have my signature Muth Mirrors put in it.

Mike. My understanding from Keith the last time I spoke to him is that he was thinking of selling it.

Depending on how it could handle daily driving duties I would say MartyO's or Rick-in-Miami's or John F. Russo's (Blue KB is one of my dream Marauders for sure) There are a few others that I like for various reasons, I just can't remember who they belong to. But a KB especially in Blue, Silver, or DTR would be up there as well. There are too many for me to just settle on one.

I'd take Zacks car in running condition. Not the beater the mid 11 second car. :coolman:

Any available Trilogy MM that is for sale like #80, King Fubar's and Tom Leonard's w/1k in CA.

The car and the Kit is all I would want.

As for the current owners' MM: WSmylie & Tallboy.

In addition to my previous post, if the KB1X could not be had.... CheeseHeadBob's would be a VERY close runner up ;)

Would our own Marauders be hidden in this line up as well...?
Cuz if it were i would spend alot of time searching for mine...

But if not Id have to get one with as many mods as mine but.... Instead of the Vortek I'd go with a mean ass ProCharger....

When I got my Vortek there just wast a ProCharger kit made yet... atleast not that I knew of....

but every performance mod would have to be on it... including upgraded fuel lines and handling mods...etc....

Bluerauder

I would love to have Bluerauder's.:D
The S.O.B. has first dibs on the Bluerauder. :D Looks like I'm gonna have to hire more security guards.

I would never just "take" someone's MM ... too risky. ;) But I sure would like to "borrow" the Defyant Marauder for a week. Charlie has done a terrific job on his car.

Ladyhawke (KB#5) and Haggis (KB#8) are also candidates. Heck they might not even miss one of them for a couple days. :P

Well I really haven't seen too many other members Marauders. But I was impressed with Defyant's with the light treatments and the Trilogy setup. That is the one I would take...

First off, if some mofo made off with my car, I'd have to hunt him down with all means available and club him like a baby seal!

Now that that's out of the way, I'd have to pick on CheeseheadBobs car. All it needs now is painted tail lights and its a Black Defyant Marauder. Bob did a fantastic job at mod choices :D

Ah, shucks..:P I had a very good template to follow; the Defyantmobile, along with some excellent guidance by Defyantman.:D

Joe Walsh had the car to beat at the last show. He has suffered his losses and rebuilt a Monster. From the looks of it, he has done a great job. The C.A.M group has a ton of fabulous Marauder; picking just one would not be fair. I am looking for construction donations for my 10-car garage and theme park to start the Mercury Marauder hall of fame. :burnout:

Well let me share my thoughts on MM's(and many other cars in general).

The "Eye Candy" factor -

I don't mind straying from OEM looks & function, as long as it's tasteful.

While some changes are a drastic improvement to an already nice ride ... you can only go so far before you start to compromise the cars original character.

I don't care for the lowered look, regardless if it may help handling.

I never cared for any sort of ground effect look - makes the car appear to sit too low - and it's very prone to damage. And quite frankly ... ground effect kits always made me think of rice.

I'm very picky when it comes to aftermarket wheels - I think many are rather gaudy.

I don't believe in aftermarket audio equipment that takes up more real estate in the car than me & the spare tire do. I also prefer to keep the look of an OEM head unit when possible. Sure I love good quality sound, & I like it loud now & then ... but there comes a point where it's nothing more than overkill IMHO.

"BEHIND THE WHEEL" -

It's no secret most of us here love power. More power is a great thing, within reason. To me ... our cars are somewhat of a blend of luxury - comfort & performance. Adding to the performance is a good thing - as long as you keep the OEM comfort & luxury intact. If you go too far & radical with the power ... & you start compromising that comfort & luxury factor. Our cars from the factory, can take you to a wedding in the same comfort & luxury a Town Car could on a Saturday ... and be right at home tearing up & down the track the next day on Sunday. Keeping that mild - mannered around town leisure driveability is important ... that's something I feel is an integral part of the cars character & I would never want to give that up. The same can be said for handling mods. Again I don't care for any lowered look. Being able to take the twisties a bit faster is a good thing ... as long as it doesn't take away from the ride quality too much. A MM shouldn't ride like a 76 F250. Exhaust ... again something that I would choose carefully. Going too loud takes away part of the cars comfort & luxury character. Better braking is always good too ... & I've yet to see a MM with any aftermarket brake stuff that I didn't like.

With that said ...

I'd probably go with the MM owned by the very person that started this thread. Chuck keeps his car tip top looks wise ... & seems to share a good part of my philosophy on keeping a MM's looks & character close to the OEM feel ... but with a nice boost in performance that doesn't compromise the MM's OEM driveability & mild manners.

I'd probably go with Cobra25's if he'd clean up the engine compartment a little bit..

I have liked every Marauder I've seen of fellow members.
I'm looking forward to MVIV to have about a hundred of them to compare against.
That's one of the two reasons I'm going, to get Ideas for my two MMs.
The other is to meet more of y'all!

The car Zack drove to an 11.6x at Gainesville on a day that the track temp. was above 100 degrees....I have never seen a car run so fast under such adverse conditions...one power adder.

Thanks for the vote of appreciation Chuck

Everyone that has driven my car understands "the formula" I've been following religiously for the last 2 years. And staying with the religious analogy, I'd have to admit that I've chosen each of my mods as carefully as Jesus chose his diciples. Never a whim, only a planned execution. Its been hard to do it that way, but its paid off.

That said, everyone's choice is indeed extremely personal as stated above. My personal "formula" for producing the fastest marauder with smallest trade off to OEM appeal and reliaibility may not be for everyone. Some folks like more appearance mods. Some like less power (if you can beleive it). Some like the other colors. Some like a more unrefined raw build up. Some like the car just the way it rolled of the factory floor.

So, for me, if I had to choose someone else's marauder, it would be Dave's. His build up is very very close to mine. Still extremely street worthy with OEM manners, but killer quick. There may be others that qualify, but of the ones I've been in Dave's would have to be it.

Have to go as a tossup between MikesMerc and Defyant's. Subtle exterior, Trilogy. By the way, does they're RT go with it?
