I've been here since the last week of May, and I've already seen more of The Republic of Texas than all my co-workers combined!!!
Guys, if you live here, get out and see the place. What a story!!!

One of the coolest bits was the tour and movie.
General (And President) Antonio López de Santa Anna was so sure of his victory, his "superior force" didn't even post sentries!!!
9 Texans died in a 20 minute battle in which 600 of Antonio López de Santa Anna's forces were killed and 700 captured.
Don't mess with Texas? SHEESH!!!

Ya I think they were a bit pissed off after the Alamo.
And they werent letting em get away with that!
After the Army of Santa Anna was all partied out and snoozin,
They were dead meat!
Of course Santa Anna ran off as usual.
He did that again in Mexico against the Americans as well.

Have you ever visited the state capitol building?

It's pretty cool. I took my family there for a mini-vacation a few weeks back. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to visit the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum, which was supposed to be VERY cool! We're planning to make another trip to Austin for that. :)
