I know this has been beat to death, but I just have one question.

I have an 04 with TC and am in the need of tires. If I go with the KDW2'S, I want the 255/55's on the rear, but my question is which is the right/smartest/coolest choice for the fronts? Does it matter much if I go with the OEM size of 235/50, or with the 245/45's?

Ok, so I have two questions. Does Carfixer's alignment work with all of the combinations?

I apologize if this has already been addressed, but I do need to act pretty soon, and need to find out what will be available. (And. . . I'm at work and my boss could care less about my tire problems)

Go with the front OEM size of 235/50/18...you won't be disappointed. And the alignment specs will stay the same.

Thanks for the quick response Todd. . . . for answering both of my one questions.

My pleasure sir....I can't tell you how happy I've been with these since I had them installed back in 2004.

Enjoy!

I had the same question a few months back due to a difference in price, was curious of the look. TAF suggested OEM, and I went OEM (with a bit of prodding), and I'm very happy with that decision. The look is right, and can't complain with matching OEM specs!

Thanks Breadfan. . . .sounds good to me. Now I just have to find them.

I know you have put a lot of time and research into this subject. I appreciate your input and all of the efforts you have made to simplify the matter and in sharing that knowledge with the rest of us.

Now I know exactly what I'm shopping for. Thanks guys!

You have seen my MM with the KDW2s on it. Stock size on front, 255/55 on the back does not upset the traction control system. Have had them for about 12000 miles, happy with them so far. If you get the size differential too large between the fronts and rears the TC will not be happy. I don't remember the exact limitations, they are posted around here somewhere.

Thanks Pete. I knew you had them, but didn't know which size you had on the fronts. Glad you're happy with them. . . . seems like most folks are.

Just ordered from Tire Rack. Having them shipped to my local installer. Should be good to go in a few days. When talking to the installer, he mentioned that another MM had been there this morning. After a few questions, I found out that it was one of our local guys following up on a Carfixer allignment. Ya gotta luv it!

Ya got me Al.

I didn't mean to infringe on your sig. It just came out at the moment. I can handle a few beers. Just don't drag me through the courts and take everything I own. . . . like my castle in the south of France, my Hollywood walk of stars thing, my planet named after my favorite cat, my MySpace.com account, and . . . . . quit driving a car that looks like mine. You really should get your own life and drive something like a Ford Tortoise. . . or is it Taurus?

Anyhow, long time no see, we miss Linda and Rosy. Oh. . . and you too.

I went with the OEMs on the fronts. These tires were 100% better then

the OEMs, off ramps are also that much better :D

I have the Nitto 295/45's out back and 255/45's up from but have the widened rear wheels......This combo works GREAT and these tires are light years ahead of the stock BFG's!!!!

Someone here has used the 295/45's on stock wheels without any problems.. I would give that some consideration unless you want the KDW2's.....I don't care for the tread design on them or the lack of traction in the rain!!!:argue:

BTW, I have 45K miles on the fronts (they were out back for 5K) and about 20K miles on the rears. I measured tread depth on the rears and they still have about 60% left and I do spin them occasionally!!:burnout:

John, We hope to be back in the "sunshine state" in about 2 weeks. Looking

miss MMIV. but we will catch you down the road.....
Like always, I got a ton of questions for you.
